Gran Santa Ponsa Apartments Reviews

Was booked into Gran Santa Ponsa for 11 nights but once arrived we were told it was totally booked up and they would have to move us to another accomodation which was very unpleasant when just arriving and excited about staying where you thought you had booked up and paid for. The lady at reception was not very nice at all and just said that this happens alot and she would book us a taxi to take us where we were to stay for entire 11 nights!! This is completely unacceptable and should not happen. You surely should get to stay where you have booked and paid for. Place we stayed was substandard although in good area was not what we wanted and paid for.

One very unhappy traveller .....that aside I did not let it affect me too much and enjoyed the sun but was really not acceptable

The hotel was fantastic for children. There was entertainment night and day altough we rarely stayed in the hotel at night being party animals we are!! The pool i hav to say catered for all with many different parts to suit all and i was relaxed in the knowledge that there was a lifeguard on hand should anything happen. The only downside is having to get up early to get a sun lounger it did say you cant put towels down as they would be removed but this wasnt the case and it started to get earlier and earlier as the holiday went on. Apartments basic but meets all your needs the Bedroom was nice and big altough our little boy aquired that and was cleaned with fresh towels most days. The lady who does the food and works behind the bar at night has wonderful stamina and dont know how she kept going all the staff were wonderful and they even have a kids club altough our little one only used it once enjoyed the pool to much. On the whole it was a wonderful holiday and i would use these apartments again.

Very close to the beach although not many bars for children near by around a 15 minute walk to find them. Nice restraunts close by like fat sams and crocodilo but be prepared to wait as there was always a quere the watering hole good for food to and not quite as busy.

Was very nervous before I came here and can tell you after staying here for two weeks, im delighted we booked this hotel! it is perfect for families, they have so much entertainment for children, Mary is brill!! Hotel is very simple, exactly what u need for a hol and are cleaned every two days!
defo comin back next year :)

Fat sam's restaurant best in the town, went there loads!!

The hotel and staff were really nice and friendly.
However, I won't be visiting again as I found the Irish took over as if they were the only guests in the hotel, which spoiled things for us.
It's a shame really as "Santa Ponsa" in gereral is a very nice place.

The main pool is quite deep, even adult men where a little freaked in it

We found a restaurant called Rhein...which was fantastic value for money

Great entertainment for younger children. Apartments were basic but clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lifts however broke down regularly, which is not great for anyone with small kids, buggies or disabled guests if you're on the third floor.

The apartments were fine. When we arrived the fridge was mouldy, which did not leave a good first impression, but once I mentioned this to the cleaners the fridge was cleaned. Mari the children's entertainer was excellent and the pool was very good for my three year old daughter.

An Indian restaurant called Himalayan at the opposite side of the bay is very good.

CLEAN HOTEL, BASIC, NO COMPLAINTS

Staff very friendly, Mary the entertainer was excellent with the kids and made sure they had something to do every day. It rained all of the time that we were there but she still got them something to do. She does the evening entertainment as well in the hotel.
There was no tv in the room but you could rent one out for 45 euro per week.
The pool was fine and suited people from babies to adults.

Supermarket opposite the hotel and the beach was 10 minutes walk away.

This was the worst accommadation i have ever stayed in. It was a holiday from hell. The appartments are basic but the entertainement is diabolical and as to be endured wether you like it or not. There is no escape from the loud music even if the doors are shut. On one occassion no one turned up for the entertainment and the woman screeching on the microphone shouted for all the people on their balconys to come and join in. It was a very stressful hoilday you could not relax by the pool because there was lots of loud foul mouthed irish yobbos. Hooligans were kicking balls up to other yobs on their balconys.

To top it all you could not even retreat to the bedroom for some peace and quite as we were placed by the busy main road and could hear all the traffic. Furthermore the management of this establishement do not consider how best to place their guests according to age etc as we were placed in between to sets of teenagers who were shouting and swearing all night long. We complained to management about being woken up at 4.30 in the morning by the hooligans next door who were shouting and swearing right outside our appartment we were asked to ring reception when the shouting began which we did a porter came to talk to the hooligans but nothing was done it was almost like they wondered what you expected when you booked to stay here. the I would not recommend this place to anyone unless of course you want a eighteen to thirty holiday with no peace and to join in the foul mouthed abusive behaviour. The people that write positive reviews about this place are the very people who cause havoc and are allowed to get away with it by management.

DO NOT STAY AT GRAN SANTA PONSA APPARTMENTS IF YOU ARE A DECENT LAW ABIDING CITIZEN WHO WANTS A RELAXING HOLIDAY.

On arriving at our apartments we were informed that they were overbooked and we had to be transferred to other apartments for one night. This was a little inconvenient when you just want to get unpacked straight away and start the holiday. This was a bit disappointing.

The beach is lovely and great for children.

Excellent self catering apartments - ideal for those who just want a lazy holiday. Not too far from the night life, but far enough away not to hear it. Beach a stone's throw - nice and clean, brilliamt for kids and adults alike. Would definitely recommend.

Manolo's restaurant. Le Jardin. Fat Sam's - ribs, steaks - yummy. Crocodillos also for ribs - devine. Not cheap, but worth it!

enjoyed the holiday . the hotel staff were pleasant and very helpful. the apartment was smaller than we expected but it served its purpose. the shuttle service was also fast had no problems at all cant fault anything about the holiday.

watering hole round the corner did good food nice friendly staff. also betty boops a good place to drink good music and air conditioning lovely when the weather was over 30 degrees.

the pool was fantastic although dirty in some areas around the pool area.
resort great with beach a 5 min walk and the same for restraunts.

Fab location, very clean spacious apartment, friendly staff. Cooking facilities are limited but there is a microwave, toaster, electric kettle and 3 ring stove so if you really want to be Nigella or Jamie, you can. Me, I'd rather enjoy the wonderful food on offer in the many restaurants in Santa Ponsa. For an end of season break, it couldn't be faulted but being a couple, we wouldn't want to be there in the height of summer as the pool and entertainment is probably fantastic for families with kids which isn't what we would personally want. It rained a couple of evenings we were there and the floors became very slippy, so please take care. Ask for a room away from the road as this can be very noisy, especially in the mornings. All in all, a relaxing break at a truly chilled out price! Superb value for money!
