The "Hôtel du Simplon" ** with character and charm is situated in the "presqu'île", the "peninsula" between the rivers Rhône and Saône. It is located near the main train station of Perrache and the greenery of the place Carnot. Although this part of the city is primarily residential, three commercial streets run through it, leading to the place Bellecour, the largest square in the city : rue Victor Hugo, rue Auguste Comte and rue de la Charité whose galleries and shops are heaven for antiques and art lovers.
“ We stayed for 4 nights and found it to be clean and comfotable although our 'superior room' was small. It is in a quiet road but very conveniant for the Metro and restraunts also within walking distance (10-15 minutes) of the main points of interest.
