Luisa Villa
3 Star Villa

Luisa Villa

in Barbati

On an island as popular as Corfu, it can be hard to find a quiet corner away from the hustle and bustle. But if it’s peace and quiet you’re looking for, look no further than Villa Luisa. Just outside the centre of Barbati, Villa Luisa proudly overlooks pretty gardens and out to the sea beyond. Just the ticket for long, hot evenings in the fading Greek sunshine. And the fact that this property was converted from apartments means that all three bedrooms have en suite bath or shower rooms. If you are travelling in a group, or with teenagers, this means a little bit of extra privacy and no awkward bathroom queues.

No doubt, after the flight and the drive from the airport, you’ll be dying to jump into the pool. So, slip on your swimsuit, smooth on some suntan lotion and take your pick of the sunbeds. Throw your towel down and slide into the cool water. After a few laps you’ll be feeling refreshed and ready to enjoy the sun. Take the twenty minute stroll into Barbati and with a blissful disregard for the time, e

The food was appaling only cater for germans! Our family room (if that's what you can call it) was down the bottom of a steep hill seperate from the hotel not very secure or easy accsessible and the walk from the room to the main part of the hotel was a treck on it's own only we had a pushchair to push up it everytime we went to and from hotel!! Not suitable for families with small children or anyone with walking issues. Was bloody hard going in the heat even for us. Travel cot in room was very old and broken, fan in room was broken (front cover was off), no room to move in family room with suitcases etc.. no wardrobe, have to pay for air con when stated was all included!! This hotel is not a 3 star more like a 1 star. Hotel needs re decorating, facilities for family rooms at top of hill not at bottom, more food selection and to include air con like first stated.Every morning there was only one hot choice of food usually hot dogs or egg!!! In the evening and luch there was a couple of choices hard potatoes and chips and veg nearly every night!! I am a vegetarian and asked on many occasions if the chef could do some vegetarian dishes but I think I had one the whole time I was there. I lived off chips, rice veg and bread as I got sick of salad every day!! I would not reccomend this hotel and am very upset we were told ideal for families, entertainment at hotel, aircon included all local drinks included.

Top Tip Calypso bar in IPSOS. We had a lovely meal here and was very reasonably priced! (the pizzas were the best!)

The staff were very helpful and efficient, especially the room service staff - the only slight hiccup was that we were unable to have the aircon switched on the night we arrived (when temperatures were in the top 30s - at night!). With hindsight, I think if we'd been more persistent this could have been easily resolved.

The food is canteen style, although we were very satisfied with the standard of the food.

Great holiday for those who want a relaxing holiday (entertainment fairly low-key) with the stamina to make their way up and down the rather hilly location (the hotel rooms are located on a rather steep hillside).

We hired a car, which was very useful but in no way essential. I cannot comment on airport transfers but suspect they are pretty reasonable. Aircon in car was wonderful for trips out during the day when temperatures were in the 40s.

Top Tip Superb little beach straight down from the hotel, pebble beach which is nicely sheltered. You have to pass through a small restaurant (at road level) which is excellent for drinks and a reasonably priced lunch (made us smile to see the waiters trotting back and forth to the house across the road with washing up and meals).

Would strongly recommend purchasing a pair of beach shoes (very cheap in the local shops) - they make the trip from sunbed to sea so much easier. Walking on pebbles does nothing for your image - especially on a sloped beach. Also recommend buying a snorkel and a lilo. The fish are amazing (spent hours watching them) and lying on a lilo in the sea is much cooler than on the sunbeds. There are no strong currents so no fear of drifting out to sea!
