The Globales Reina Cristina Hotel ofAlgeciras, Cádiz, very close to the crystal clear waters of the beaches of Tarifa (just 10 min.), opened in 1901. Renovated in February 2006. Discover a unique colonial style in the hotel. Explore the ruins of an 8th century Muslim mosque and an Arabic well from this period, which still works. This hotel of the Costa del Sol is surrounded by palm tree gardens. It has an outdoor swimming pool, an indoor swimming pool, two tennis courts, a gym and sauna. Enjoy cetacean and migratory bird sightings and giant red tuna fishing.
“ Very nice, clean & well kept hotel. Food very good especially the breakfast. Good value for money. Only downside is the area that it is located in. Not much to do or see in the locality. We only used it as a base for getting to Gibraltar.

The Meliá Atlanterra is a hotel in Cadiz built in traditional Andalusian style with Arabic influence in its design and decoration. Located right on the sea shore with direct access to a huge fine-sand beach in Bahía de la Plata, one of the best beaches in Cadiz. The hotel is far from the madding crowds. Built in traditional Andalusian style, the patios and spacious open areas give it a highly unique personality.

“ My Husband and i booked this hotel as it appeared from the travel republic brochere to be a five star , it was far from that. I would not reccommend this Hotel to anyone, it is shabby dirty and run down.

“ Stayed in one of the villas which was very nice - glad the weather was warm though as I think it would have been quite cold if the weather hadn't been nice. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Very golfer orientated - we are not golfers but were there to watch Moto GP testing.
