It is approximately 16 miles from the airport and 14 miles from the capital St. John's.Each of the rooms are named after one of Lord Nelson's ships and are uniquely furnished, many with antiques and period pieces which enhance the weathered brickwork, hand-hewn beams and brass. Amenities include an en suite bathroom, a hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV, a radio, Internet access, air conditioning and a fully-equipped kitchen with a fridge, a washing machine and ironing set. A living room or living area in the studios also features as standard. Furthermore, most suites have exquisite views of the harbour and some include a balcony or a terrace.There are beaches within easy reach and can be accessed via the harbour ferry or by taxi. Dive programs include the traditional Caribbean underwater attractions plus the added feature of some historical artefacts left by the ships of Nelson's Leeward Islands fleet. Special dive packages are offered. Furthermore, land and water excursions, sailing, tennis, horse riding and golf are available and the hotel also features an entertainment programme.

We were in the Badger studio with a little kitchenette. It had lovely views on two sides (Nelson's D and Shirley Heights). It was clean and well furnished and had modern aircon (quiet!). There was a toaster and the kettle in the kitchen, all pots ans pans and a hot plate. Very useful if you like cooking, and as the local produce is delicious it was really worth having that option. All hotel staff was lovely! Very friendly and helpful. The hotel has got its own restaurant but as it was low season it was open from 10 to 4 only. However, there were other places (restaurants and bars) within a walking distance.
The beach is also within a walking distance (about 20 minutes) from the hotel. It is probably not the best Antiguan beach but it is truly lovely. It got a bit busy on Sunday but apart from that it was quiet. There is a nice beach cafe/bar called Bumpkins there.
We had a great time!
“ Top Tip: I would recommend using local buses if you want to go to St John's (the capital). Worth seeing! Local buses have not got schedules but there is usually one waiting for you outside the Dockyard gates. They are cheap and fun. And you are joined by local people.

“ A wonderfully relaxing hotel with very friendly and efficient staff who cannot do enough for you. Perhaps a bit 'tired' in parts but this is all part of its simple charm. The food was generally good but would have liked more Caribbean food included.
