“ Expected similar to Premier Inn but was more in the style of Holiday Inn with the bar, restaurant and terrace. Room was fine with ensuite bathroom, TV, fridge, hairdryer & kettle supplied. Friendly staff all speak English. Easy to find in a quiet location 10min from station, 20min from old town, ask for a map at reception.
“
Top Tip:
Used Salzburg as a hub for Innsbruck and Venice returning after 4 days, let reception know we were returning and they gave us an upgrade.
Parking in the garage is €11, free parking on the grounds is very limited, if parking on the street move your car by 0800, fine is €21 + €4 commission if you pay at the post office.

“
This hotel was very comfortable. I took my mother to see the Christmas markets, and while i would have preffered two rooms naturally, funds would only stretch to sharing a twin, but this was fine.
The hotel is like a very nice travelodge, and while i would always try and go for something characterful, i wanted us both to have all the conveniences of a modern hotel. The rooms were very well kept, spacious, but not hugely so, with lots of closet space, and a lovely bathroom/shower. The service was excellent, everyone spoke perfect English, and they couldn't do enough-like providing a kettle, mugs and spoons for the room when we asked.
The hotel is a ten minute (if you are younger, or fifteen minute walk if you are elderly /in no rush) away from the old town-a doodle to find, you go straight ahead and turn right, and that's it. However, you walk past some lovely shops, and a great restaurant, this side of the river, before you get to the old town which you might have missed otherwise.
The breakfast at the restaurant is truly great. Everybody is catered for. In addition to the hot plates of sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs, cooked tomatoes etc...there are extensive cereals, juices (inc' freshly pressed orange), cheeses -hard and soft ,cold meats, and the usual jams, rolls, breads etc...found in Continental Europe Oh! and lots of different teas, and lovely coffee to boot!.
So, yes i recommend.

Top Tip:
I can't remember the whole name but it is a restaurant on the right hand side about three or minutes before you come to the river from the hotel. It says Fuchs outside which means Fox. There is also a picture of one on the wall above the doorway.
This was a lively (no,not rowdy) place, in fact the atmosphere was great, very jovial and lots of bonhomie. Lovely food, such as pan fried trout, venison goulash and other hearty treats, and very well cooked. Mains were about £9-£10.
There is a no smoking section, but it's better in the other bit (and I've never smoked, and it wasn't a problem). They served till late too, about ten thirty. A top find.

“ The only thing that brings this hotel down, is its location. It is just a ten minute walk away from the city centre, but I think that if I ever go back to Salzburg I would book in the town centre. There are no places to eat near the hotel, so you do have to go back to the town centre. The breakfast was excellent and the rooms were very clean.
