Everyone was very friendly and whilst the room may not have been perfect (some cracks in our patio door glass and a somewhat lethargic A/C unit) the hotel provided very good service. The restaurant and bar were friendly with reasonable prices (for Barbados). The daily multiple happy hours and crazy cocktails providing a very pleasant distraction for those seeking a break from the beach. The hotel is on the beach and kept clean and tidy by the hotel groundsmen.
The hotel suits families being fairly quiet, and away from the busier areas with in occasional live bands/karaoke for evening entertainment (up to 10pm).

Top Tip: The gold star for this location would probably be the reef and fish on the beach. This provides a shallow section (about 5') swimming area and a large variety of fish to watch. For the ambitious divers/snorkelers if you prefer to swim in deeper water you can go out to the giant clams and clear sea beyond but avoid doing so at low tide as there are areas of very shallow water over rocks, sand and low visibility that can be painful when swimming in rough sea.
Recommend you try Mama Mia's opposite the hotel, and wasn't impressed with TGI Fridays (cold, expensive and slow service). If you venture further to Oystins then try the flying fish at pats place, a recommendation we got from Teds Tour that was soundly deserved.

Check-in date:

The Coconut Court was extremely good value for money and as a short getaway was ideal to relax on there fantastic beach. The sea is a little rocky/stoney initially but great due to a reef makes swimming safe for all.
Breakfast was continental style but more than suitable with hot options at an extra charge. All the staff were very friendly except one chap who was on duty at the front desk late at night who was very unhelpful when i enquired about a hospitality room for guests whose flights were not until later after check out. He told me no, and that i could get changed in the toilets. Most hotels will offer that service as a basic at no extra charge to assist you making the most of your final day on the beach.
The room was good with fridge, kettle, toaster etc. Our location opposite the ocean was ok but go for a superior beach view which is in a slightly nicer building.
All in all great and we would go back definatley.

Top Tip: Oistens on a friday eve a must, go and eat at Mo's grill. The best fish i ever tasted and a ton of it pled on my plate. Great atmosphere.

Top Tip: not suitable for disabled as lots of stairs, must request beach view for better rooms. ONLY EGGS FOR BREAKFAST little variaty

If you are reading reviews to see if The Almond Beach is a good holiday destination I would say “Yes”. I don’t usually write long reviews but on this occasion felt that I need to defend The Almond Beach against all of the negative reviews.
