Best Western Leonardo Charleroi Hotel

“ The staff were very friendly. First impressions were not great for the price I paid £48 for 1 night the room was very basic. Having said that the sheets were clean and the bed comfy but not worth the price. Location wasnt great it had said in the review it was 3 miles from the airport but it wasnt and it was just over 20 euros in a taxi each way. It was 5/10 mins walk from the centre which was basically just shops and as it was raining and cold it was a really boring place to go. We did get the train to Brussels which was 18 euros return and free for under 12 taking approx 1 hour to get there. We came because we had never been to Belgium before and the flights were peanuts so we thought we would give it a go, I wouldnt bother to go back.

“ Top Tip: Nothing there I would give the whole area a miss.

“ Breakfast was terrible for 10 euros per person. I had to plug in the toaster, there was an egg bath for boiling eggs wasn't switched on. very little food on the buffet.

“ Top Tip: Charleroi is a good place to spend the night when you have an early flight. There are loads of shops, bars and restaurants.

“ A very good hotel with friendly and helpful staff. My only problem is that it is in a rather scruffy corner of the town, about 15 minutes walk from restaurants and cafes/bars. When we stayed the restaurant and bar in the hotel were closed for refurbishing, which is always annoying when you've been travelling all day and you just want an easy option. Luckily the breakfast was served in a separate room - incidentally, the best breakfast we had all week with a huge choice of pastries, fruit, breads, hot food, etc.
