“ Bedrooms need updating. Bar in reception was expensive even by western standards. Spa and swimming pool looked good but did not use it. You get a lot of Turkish coming here to play the casino so someone told me. Not really a 4 star hotel, would class it 3 star in terms of rooms ect. Good location near centre but area around hotel a bit seedy. Prices for booking were very reasonable through a comparison website. Would not stay here again as prefer a more luxurious hotel.

“ Just a little tired and far more than 10 minutes walk from the shopping area.
“ Top Tip: If you want to meet the local muggers and prostitutes turn left towards the bus station. The hotel staff did at least warn us of that.

“ I was very impressed with every aspect of the Lion hotel. Everything was clean and 'worked', which is more than what you can say for the drab city in which it is located. An excellent hotel which is almost out of place in a very run-down and dilapidated capital city.
