This hotel is very close to Bloor-Yonge subway so accessing it from public transport is easy. You just take the 192 Rocket bus to Kipling station and take the subway to Bloor-Yonge. Takes about an hour allowing for carrying and pulling your luggage!

North of the Eaton Center Shopping Mall which is so big it has 2 subway stations at either end; Dundas and Queen. Takes only 10 minutes from Bloor-Yonge, however you can walk it in around 20-25 minutes at a leisurely pace.

The CN Tower and Rogers Centre are about a 40 minute walk away but quicker to get the subway to Union and walk from there.

Hotel staff were pleasant and very helpful; they even charged my camera via the USB cable when I discovered I'd taken the wrong travel adapter! Location for such a large city was fairly quiet with occasional sounds from outside. Room and bathroom were very tidy and you could always tell your room had been cleaned. Lots of coffee bags but not so many courtesy teabags...but Starbucks and Second Cup were right on the street corner together with a late night pharmacy. Continental breakfast was fairly basic: just tea, coffee, orange juice, and croissants and bread/toast with jam etc, but perfectly adequate given that lunch and dinner portions in the cafes and restaurants are huge.

I would definitely stay at this hotel again as it was good value for money.

Top Tip: Good places to eat locally were Jack Astors Bar & Grill, Burgandy's Bar which are a few minutes walk from the hotel. Service was excellent as was the food. Ride the 501 streetcar from Queen to Neville Park and walk along the promenade in the exclusive area of The Beaches. Toronto is easy to navigate and drivers are courteous compared to the U.S. but it's a large city so whilst it may be tempting to walk everywhere to soak up the place it can be very tiring. Always better to let the subway or streetcar take you to where you want to go or at least part of the way so you can enjoy your chosen destination without feeling a little exhausted. Public transport is very cheap and you never have to wait long for it. Buy the tokens for the subway and streetcars in advance and keep them in a little pouch, then you can hop on a off the train and streetcars. Also if you are transferring from train to bus or streetcar, remember to get your transfer ticket from your originating station. But if you forget don't panic Canada handles tourism with ease.

Basic hotel. Clean , comfortable, spacious rooms. No complaints at all. Within walking distance of everything. Breakfast was forgettable. Continental consists of toast or croissant and awful lukewarm coffee and tea. Would return though cos its value for money hotel.
