Construction of Bignell Park Hotel in Chesterton near Bicester started in the mid 18th Century and was originally part of Bignell Park Manor House as the Estate Mews. By the 19th Century Bignell Park was converted into a private residency but with its beautiful Cotswold charm and two and a half acres of land it was transformed into a country house hotel with a Restaurant.The hotel has since undergone many upgrades and extensions to allow us to cater for most accommodation requirements from conferences and weddings to romantic weekend breaks.All the rooms in our hotel are individually designed and seek to maintain the original charm of this wonderful property whilst providing all the modern amenities desired by the most discerning clientele.Each of our hotel rooms is decorated and furnished to an exceptionally high standard; all take advantage of the beautiful surroundings and views. All have colour televisions and beverage making facilities. We are ideally placed for the business centres in Bicester. Also we are only 5 minutes from Jct. 9 of the M40.5 minutes walk to Bicester Village designer outlet shopping mall.We do not serve Breakfast however there is a hotel only 100 metres away that will serve a full Continental Or English breakfast from 7.30 a.m. until 9.00 a.m. We are also only a short walk from the town centre with numerous cafe's and coffee shops serving breakfast.Our bar and restaurant below is very stylish and serves a modern Brasserie style menu along with a varied wine list and good range of draught and bottled beers.Please note that on Monday's and Tuesday's we close between 2.30 pm and 5.15 pm and therefore check in must be before or after these times. Steeped in history and dating back to the 11th century Weston Manor is a beautiful and unusual venue for a conference or a meeting. The present Baronial Hall was the bailiffs court for the Abbott of Osney who owned the house before the dissolution of the monasteries by King Henry V111 in the 16th century.Subsequently the great land owning families the Earls of Abingdon and Berkshire - the Norreys and Berties resided at Weston Manor until the death of the last heir during the great war in 1917.Renovated during the twenties and thirties by several families Weston Manor was occupied during the second world war when it was used by the BBC as a dormitory for their staff.The building was converted into a hotel in the late 1940's and bought by its present owners the Osborn family in 1983. Mr and Mrs Osborn pride themselves on the care and effort they have made to sympathetically restore the building and its grounds.
