Hotel and staff were all we've come to expect from Holiday Inn. The hotel was spotless and staff lovely. They went out of their way to help us and had no problem allowing us in to our room at 12 noon on our arrival.
There is some building work going on in the area but this did not intrude on our stay as our room was nice and quiet.
Although the Hotel isn't in the middle of town we found it easy to walk to Temple of Heaven (10mins) the sub station (15mins), to the town centre and to Tian'anmen Square although the heat might make you take a taxi. The hotel was FANTASTIC value for money with plenty of choice at breakfast time.

Top Tip:
Close to most things and an easy taxi ride from the rest. The new shopping area close to Tian'anmen Square is nice to walk through with lots of places to eat and shops to look at.

“ we were given a 'Chinese room' which was small but nice and very authentic however, within 1 hour of laying down on the bed i came out in a rash which i have had before and was due to bed bugs.

“ Disappointed to find that upon our arrival at 17.00hrs from a long and tiring journey from Shanghai that our room was not ready. However once in our room the accommodation was excellent. Some difficulties experienced early evening obtaining taxis for guests. Convenient location for most tourist sites such as Tiananmen Square ,Forbidden City and main shopping street.
