A fantastic hotel close to Gruz harbour, so ideal for Island hopping to Lopud etc. Not really in walking distance to the Old Town in 20/30 minutes as quoted in many reviews.
I found the staff to be helpful and Mariann the breakfast waitress was superb. If landing at Dubrovnik airport I would recommend the Hotel limo @ 55 euro return.
The kitchens in the suites are poor and only really any good for boiling rice,pasta etc. No toaster, microwave, oven, can opener and little in the way of cutlery. There is a fridge with a freezer box so great for making up rolls etc. for trips out.
The pool is not heated so not brilliant out of season :(
Having said the above I would return.
“ Top Tip: Island hop from the nearby port. Sunj beach on Lopud was great, take the Golf cart taxi from the harbour as it's quite some hike in the heat of the day. It only cost £2.50 each way and well worth it.

“ The hotel was very very good. The choice of restaurants was poor and we had to go into the old town to eat. There wasnt anything to do at night near the hotel although it was near to the ferry port.

Hotel room with sea view, and small kitchen and balcony is excellent value for money; room and all areas kept very clean.
Good comfortable double bed, and well equipped room and bathroom.
Reception staff generally helpful, but could have had one or two suggested itineraries for short stay visitors.
The lady serving breakfast was very knowledgable; friendly, and efficient.
Breakfast was quite good, and cooked to order.
The port location was good for boat trips to the small islands.

Top Tip:
It wasn't a 20 minute walk to the Old Town, as some reviews claim, more like 40 minutes uphill!Buy a 24 hour local bus pass and visit nearby Lapad and of course the Old Town.
Our favourite island is Lapud with a great beach and 2 shack like cafes which have really good food.

“ Very nice, clean hotel. About 30 mins walk from the old town, or a 5 min bus ride. Also a 5 min drive to lapad bay. Has a small but nice pool area that is kept very clean. we were there in early June and the place wasnt overly busy. Friendly australian owners/staff
“ Top Tip: Dont bother eating at Taverna Dubravka, beside the gates to the old town, lovely location but food is poor and service is terrible. Try Poklisar, Lucin Kantun or Steakhouse Domino instead

Extremely helpful and friendly staff, very clean, freshly cooked breakfast with good service, easy access by bus into old town, close to main bus station for shuttle to airport
Bad points:
No decent restaurants or bars close by, steep walk from harbour to hotel for the elderly, our back facing room of hotel dark
Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Berkeley

Surrounded by pine forests and directly next to the clear blue Adriatic, Hotel Neptun offers a peaceful retreat, yet only a short distance away from the old town of Dubrovnik. It is situated 5 kilometres away from the Old town; there is a regular bus line connecting the hotel and Old town (15 minutes drive) every 15 minutes. Featuring 2 outdoor swimming pools, a fitness centre, an excellent restaurant and lounge bar all set in attractive gardens and surroundings. Rooms are set over 2 buildings - the main Pavilion building and Neptun I. All rooms are of a good standard and comfortably furnished.
“ Hotel is in a great location with a great beach area. Staff are really helpful. The downside is that the decor of the hotel is a bit dated for the price but so are most of the hotels in the area it seems.

“ Thought the Hotel was excellent and the location brilliant - just a leisurely 10 minute walk from Dubrovnik Old Town. The rooms were very good with huge beds and spotlessly clean. The outdoor pool area stunning with fantastic views over the busy Adriatic and there never seemed to be a problem getting a sunbed.

Within walking distance of the old town of Dubrovnik, the Lero Hotel offers a good basic standard of accommodation and facilities offering excellent value for money. Boasting 160 contemporary style guest rooms, each air conditioned with satellite TV, minibar, telephone and with either a park or a sea view. The hotel has 2 restaurants and a bar as well as being only 200 metres away from a secluded beach.
“ We have just returned from a week staying at the Hotel Lero. The hotel is modern and well run. The staff are well focussed on providing good customer service. Hotel Lero is more suitable for older people and focusses their market as such with catering mostly for groups.
