“ Excellent 3 star hotel (more like 4 star except decor a bit tatty in places and pool not cleaned very well). Staff were nice if you approach them with a smile. Location and facilities were very good. Definitely recommended as brilliant value for money in a lovely setting.
“ Top Tip: Search out the coastal walk from Argosy hotel to Lapad, unmissable especially as sun goes down.

“ Great hotel, definitely as good as any 4 star. Good food and the half board option was definitely worth it.Easy transfer from airport. The airport bus picks up after each plane arrival and takes only about 30 mins to get into centre of Dubrovnik. The local No 6 bus across the road from where the airport bus stops goes to the hotel which is the last stop. The local bus can be very busy with lots of passengers. We intend to go back to the same hotel next year.
“ Top Tip: Buy jelly shoes for beach. Beach is quite rocky.

“ The hotel was in a complex with several other hotels of the same group (Valmar). Having booked just B&B accommodation, which is our preference in order to sample other restaurants, we found there was very little choice of independent restaurants. All the other hotels in the group offered only a buffet style evening meal, which was not what we wanted.

“ This hotel was lovely. Should of been a 4* rated hotel. We paid extra for room with balcony and was well worth it as we sat on balcony and boat watched. Food was good lots of choice but dining room can get busy. It's self sevice and a lot of the food is cooked on the spot. The hotel was lovely and clean and staff really friendly and helpful. Only one problem the pool was very cold and no one was able to use it but expect this was because it was coming to the end of the season. The bus near the hotel took you into Dubrovnik and was about a 10 minute journey. We really loved staying outside Dubrovnik and this was a beautfiul area with its rocky coastline and mountains. Great holiday highly recommend it.
“ Top Tip: This hotel was on a complex of other hotels owned by Valamar. You were able to use the facilities of all the hotels very useful as each hotel offered different facilities ie some more for families or couples. Walk the coast road and you will come to a Yacht Club lovely place for lunch.

Very Clean.
Air conditioned rooms - great! Rooms like good quality travellodge. no complaints.
We stayed B&B, which was very good, fruit, fresh fruit salad, cheeses, cereals, bread, pancakes, bacon, eggs etc etc, something for everyone.
Enertainment some nights in the Hotel 'garden' one which was quite good, even if done on a budget, we didn't attend much.
Staff friendly and helpful.
The hotel is about 10 minute walk from the 'beach', but note that the beach is not sandy but rocks! Sandy beaches are rare in Dubrovnic you need a good book on Croatia to locate them.

Top Tip:
We stayed B&B, the evening meals in the hotel were quite expensive to buy there so we did not try them, I wasn't impressed with the menu.
There are good eating places in Dubrovnic which is a 10 minute bus ride away. The better ones cost in the region of £30-£40 for two with wine.
A walk on Dubrovnic old city wall is well worth the effort and take a trip to one or two of the islands nearby, but use the Ferry rather than the boat trips being sold in the old city harbour, it's reasonably priced and won't rip you off with false promises.
Also use the local bus service, its cheap 1 krona per journey and you can pre-purchase your tickets from the hotel, (buses do not give change).
Get a good guidebook to find the best restaurants and islands.

“ The beaches are a short walk with Copacabana having sunbeds, umbrellas for hire - 60 kuna and 30 kuna a day - but shingle. Access to the sea for swimming and a cafe on site. Hotel pool is spacious and not busy when we visited from 2 to 9 September.

“ Thought the Hotel was excellent and the location brilliant - just a leisurely 10 minute walk from Dubrovnik Old Town. The rooms were very good with huge beds and spotlessly clean. The outdoor pool area stunning with fantastic views over the busy Adriatic and there never seemed to be a problem getting a sunbed.
