Nice hotel as you would expect for a 4*. The buffet breakfast and dinner were quite acceptable but not exceptional and they could do with lowering the lighting a bit (well a lot really). It did remind us of a busy canteen rather than a 4* restaurant. Plenty of nice restaurants nearby so we ate out quite a lot even though we were half board. The hotel is used by a lot of coach trips which makes the bar and restaurant very busy at times but the pool and terrace fairly quiet (as we assume the coach trippers are in old town).

Top Tip: Stony beach take Crocs or equivalent (or stay by the pool). Eat out in the evening.

Very Good

A lovely positioned hotel, right by the coast and very near a bus that takes 15 mins to get to the old town (and runs every 15 mins). Hotel very clean. Food cooked very well - meat very tender and always at least 3 options of meat plus fish. Food could have been a bit warmer, it came out of the kitchen hot but didn't remain warm on the buffet. Drinks prices very reasonable. Was very relaxing to lie on a sunlounger next to the indoor pool, which was quite cold and saltwater, but still enjoyable. Recommend paying extra for the seaview. Would definitely recommend and return if visited Dubrovnik again.

Hotel Grand Park is a great hotel in a super location. Everything you need on the doorstep. Great food with a choice of 5 main courses at dinner etc. They DO know how to cook meat. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough. The only thing that lets it down but we think it was still worth it, is the standard of cleaning in the bedrooms. Towels changed every day, bed made and a clean toilet but that was about it. Initially looks clean until you see the dust and bits that could do with a good wash down.Would still recommend it tho. All in all a great weeks holiday in a great hotel. Also thanks to Travel Republic for steering us there after our initial booking fell through

Top Tip: Prices for drinks are the same as in UK as are prices generally but there is a good little supermarket a few minutes from the door. Box of nice local wine about £6 and 2 litre of local beer for £1 50. There is a bus stop about 5 mins away from the hotel which apparently is frequent and takes you right into the centre in front of the old city. We hired a car before we left UK which we picked up and left at the airport. We found it a good move as we did a lot of running about and diesel is just over £1 a litre. Considering the cost of transfers and the other things we did,e.g. driving up to the top of the mountain overlooking Dubrovnik where the cable car docks instead of paying for the cable car, we feel that it paid for itself. However if you are organising your own transport, buses run frequently from the airport to the city centre and connections to the hotel are frequent. The cost of bus travel is very reasonable. We drove up to Cavtat which is a little place on the sea not far from the airport. We met other people from our hotel who said that the journey had cost them £2 each, each way, so good value.
