Perla Hotel

“ Good location, near the sea and just a 12 mins bus ride to the Old City from stop about 5 mins walk from Hotel. Very friendly staff who were always ready to help. Hotel and rooms clean and tidy. Breakfast simple, fresh fruit, yoghurt, jams, honey, boiled eggs, bread but adequate and offers guests good and freshly cooked omelettes. Ate dinner in the evening on three occasions at Hotel and food and house wine good. Try fresh fish, Dorada, Sqid and seafood spaghetti.

“ Top Tip: Try early evening drinks from Hotel More, a short distance from along the beach. Bar area built into the cliffs, has a wonderful view over the sea.

“ The food in the restaurant was good. The service was good and friendly. The breakfast was a little limited - the only cooked food being an omlette. A light lunch was available and reasonably priced. The evening meals were good. The steak was reasonably priced and cooked to perfection. The choice of vegetables was rather limited. We visited at the tail end of the season which may have explained this. The room was comfortable yet the shower cubicle may a tight fit for larger people. Some of the furniture was basic but adequate.

“ Top Tip: The Lea Travel Agency who organise the excursions is situated next door. This proved very convenient. The hotel is located 2-3Km from the old town, which initially appeared to be a disadvantage. It wasn't because the pedestrianised street in Lapad is a mini centre containing a few hotels with cafes / bars / restaurants a few little shops and numerous cruise organisers. A pebble beach and a coastal path are about 150 metres away. The town centre is easily accessible by a frequent no 6 bus service. The fare is 12Kuna each way.

“ The hotel and restaurant staff were really friendly, nice and helpful.
I decided to go for half board option - I was told I could swap my dinner for lunch on any day, if that would suit my plans better. That was brilliant!
I liked the food, the choice was all right as well.
The room and bathroom could do with a bit of updating (someone already mentioned really sqeaky beds, which I have experienced too, and the shower door didn't meet when closed), but apart from that it was a really nice stay :)

“ Top Tip: The hotel is really close to a small and busy beach one way and a bus stop for visiting the Old Town and beyond the other way.
Check the port website for expected cruise ships to avoid crowds in the Old Town.
I can really recommend a city wall walk and a view from Srd above the Old Town (can be reached easily by a cable car), especially in the evening.

old city about 1 hour walking or you take bus number 6 and bus number 7 to get to the main bus station....
breakfast was nice but not a lot of choice.....
only one this to improve , bed was very noisy ....
lovely view from balkony and room really spacious....
averall i would go back anytime...

“ Top Tip: Lovely beach near the hotel... go towards Compas hotel and walk for about 10-15 min....
