At first i was devastated by the condition of the hotel, very run down, lifts not working, swimming pool dirty, shabby rooms, balcony door held shut by a metal thin rod, no electricity or water one day, no air-con all stay.....but i have to admit i did get used to it.
I felt i experienced a true Cuban stay, surrounded by Cuban people who were friendly and always tried to speak English with me. The location is fantastic, yes a bit noisy being on the waterfront, but you can sit and watch the locals dancing and having fun on the street below. Strangely i did adjust to more difficult living conditions, it does you good. 24 hour bar is a great asset, but be selective on who makes your Mohito's, my first was awful, but Eduardo's were great.
Breakfast is not good at all, but again, i accepted it.
For luxury DO NOT stay here, but for a true Cuban holiday, and if you can adjust a little, you will enjoy your stay.

Michelle, Carriage 10, Old Havana....he was a great tour guide around Havana with his horse and carriage...a lovely guy.
Eduardo, Barman at the hotel, was great, a really lovely genuine guy.

“ Top Tip: turn right along the sea road about 200m down is a really good restaurant

good value for money, rooms a bit shabby. However asked for a move and got ocean view and much cleaner slightly updated rooms. Prostitutes obviously touting for business in the bar, was all a bit seedy so therefore I don't think suitable for families. Staff helpful and friendly. stayed B&B twice on our cuban break. breakfast ok.
Great that pool in hotel.
