good value for money, rooms a bit shabby. However asked for a move and got ocean view and much cleaner slightly updated rooms. Prostitutes obviously touting for business in the bar, was all a bit seedy so therefore I don't think suitable for families. Staff helpful and friendly. stayed B&B twice on our cuban break. breakfast ok.
Great that pool in hotel.

“ In the middle of a buildding site as all the roads were up but maybe this means it will be even nicer next time! V large, comfortable room, comfortable beds. Very clean, helpful staff, nice bar and good restaurant with very nice breakfasts and perfectly good other meals available. Great swimming pool with bar and snacks, and convenient for sites. Hot water only happened once.

“ this hotel was basic in terms of furnishings, however, it was spotlessly clean with friendly maid service and helpful reception staff. All gave great, honest advice when asked and it was very secure to exchange sterling or euros in the hotel at any time. A friendly bar often had guitar and singing entertainment at night and the air conditioning was a godsend! The pool was terrific and a great, cheap restaurant/cafe alongside it until 10pm. The breakfast is fabulous and terrific value, all you could want for choice and freshness, as well as lots of staff clearing tables and ensuring all is as you want it to be. Overall, we made this holiday a wonderful one and this was helped in no small way because of our safe haven in the Deauville Hotel and staff!!!
“ Top Tip: When booking, request a high level floor, above 7 - the pool is on floor 6 and you often felt hotter and more humid on the lower flowers. Our room was 1206 which had a huge double balcony and very spacious accommodation, others we spoke to in the room 1205 had similar great balcony views of the ocean and life below,. The higher the floor the less intrusion of noise from the disco on the basement levels.

“ Good value all things considered. Had room on upper floor with great view looking down the malecon. Room was spacious with decent en suite and a separate tv lounge. Use of in room safe is a must at 2 $cuc per night. Small but very useful sun pool on 6th floor of split level building. Easily walkable to the various plazas in old part of Havana but bring sturdy footwear as pavements not good. Good breakfast included which was the best meal I had each day in Havana. Fill-up on delicious fresh orange juice, cereals (limited choice) with fresh milk, cooked to order omelette or fried eggs, fresh fruit, pastries and decent coffee. There were other choices as well but english breakfast not possible as no bacon served for example but otherwise great breakfast.
“ Top Tip: Lot of male hustlers (and the occasional couple) in Havana especially near to the tourist hotels and in public areas such as the plazas which becomes very tedious very quickly but just say "no gracias senor" and keep walking and they soon give up. From what I could gather these people may actually be state employed, presumably to hustle tourists away from free public areas in to bars etc to keep them spending money. These male hustlers are also likely to try-on various scams such as counterfeit money changing, selling dodgy cigars or even in the case of one couple pretending they were staying at the same hotel presumably to gain my confidence which I nearly fell for even though I'm an experienced independant traveller - they wanted to take me to some fantastic "festival"!!!

“ Fabulous hotel - the best in Havana. Excellent location. I stayed in the new building and the bedroom was totally luxurious, and very quiet. Double doors to the corridors so you can't hear any noise from the corridors - or from other rooms.

Situé dans les rues étroites du vieux La Havane, Los Frailes hôtel se trouve à quelques pas de 'Saint François d Assisi' et de la très populaire 'Vieille Place'. Endroit parfait pour apprécier les après-midi silencieuses et méditatives de la vieille ville.
