BelleVue Palma Real Hotel

“ The hotel is extremely good value for money. Cuba is not a cheap place to holiday, buying meals out can cost a lot and so the all inclusive option in this hotel is great! They use Havana Club rum in their fabulous cocktails. There was plenty of variety in the food options (I'm a veggie and I was fine!) and the late night snack bar was great for getting a bite to eat after a night out! When we went there were lots of young Canadian holiday-makers who were very boisterous and may put off older more reserved travelers but all in all it was good. The rooms were clean and spacious (slightly stale smelling blankets though) and a stones throw from the gorgeous Caribbean beach where sun loungers were provided and an all inclusive bar serving snacks was available. We extended our stay!

“ Top Tip: Free entry to the near-by Havana Club night spot was very handy. Follow the beach to the left of the hotel to find more secluded spots. A day trip to Havana is all you really need. The onsite 'Chinese' restaurant is not worth a visit!!

“ In short......Lovely staff, good clean rooms, big pools, excellent services but don't go if you don't eat pork!! Food was awful unless you can live on salads and fruit.

“ Top Tip: Beach is lovely and la Playa Palma Real belongs to hotel so all-inc there too. Could just do with some new sunbeds. No mattresses and uncomfortable if you have a bad back! Good open air bar 1 block away from hotel. Just come out of entrance, follow path bearing left'ish and turn left at main road. NOT Havana Club, next block forward. Great staff and service and good prices.

There are two separate pools both of them clean
The beach is only a 5 min walk away.

Only downside is the quality of the food, especially La Piazza the Italian place which not only served bad food but also had two stray cats inside begging for food and an insect crawling over the bruschetta

“ Top Tip: Food at the hotel is not very good (see above). One of the animateurs put us in touch with some locals where we could go for dinner at their place having the best and probably also the cheapest lobster in town for 15 CUC plus drinks

“ The place was nice and clean. The beach was beautiful and nice and quiet. The hotel staff were mostly very friendly. They were clearly incredibly demoralised, though, and as soon as they discovered we spoke Spanish the barmen all wanted to talk about how terrible the area and the tourist culture there were. My travelling companion was woken up on our second night there by a prostitute knocking on his door who tried to force her way into the room! Apart from being unpleasant and disconcerting, it destroyed our faith in the security there and made me feel quite unsafe. The food was awful.

“ Top Tip: The best way to enjoy this hotel was to spend all day on the beach!
