Location
This hotel is located around 5 minutes from the city centre in an ideal location, where the Varadero Peninsula begins between the ocean and the Paso de Malo canal. Commercial and recreational areas are easily within walking distance. Nightclubs and various shopping opportunities are within a 15 minute drive. The nearest underground line lies around 6 km away and Varadero airport is only around 25 minutes away.

In addition to one of the best white sandy beaches in Varadero, the grounds also include a large pool, children's pools, a poolside snack bar, sun loungers, parasols and hand towels. Visitors are also offered the opportunity to enjoy a massage. The hotel features a welcoming atmosphere with exotic Caribbean charm and offers shows, games, water sports such as aqua aerobics, wind surfing, diving, catamaran sailing and canoeing, nightclubbing and much more. “ Overall good value for money. Nice en suite room with balcony overlooked beach. Hotel in good condition generally with lovely grounds and a nice big swimming pool, though most people seemed to prefer the beach. Reasonable choice of drinks though fresh orange juice only available in the restaurant(s) which is a definite negative as vodka with orange cordial is just not the same. Mojitos not possible as no mint though I know for a fact that mojitos were available in the 5 stars. Beer was okay but wine more akin to vinegar. Decent coffee as one would expect in Cuba. Food wise okay most of the time with breakfast and lunch generally better than the evening meal. However on arrival had a late evening meal of spaghetti which was poor. Forget the in between meal snacks of toasted ham and cheese sandwich (nearly made me sick) and "hot dog" (which frankly was disgusting). Only used the buffet restaurant.

Top Tip:
1) Double decker open top tourist bus all day ticket for 5$cuc to get anywhere on the c.20 km Varadero strip - clearly marked bus stop very close to hotel.
2) Have meals as soon as buffet opens as pre-cooked food at freshest and best selection.

We very much enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The food was plentyful and to a good standard. We always found something tasty to eat. We mainly choose the fresh cooked food from the grill. All the staff were polite and helpful. The entertainment staff were very friendly and inclusive of all. The entertainment was above average. The hotel was clean. We were disappointed that there was 3 pool tables but no cues. The gardens were beautiful.
“ Top Tip: Cuban people are in no rush. If you have to wait just be patient. If the bus/coach is late stay calm it will be with you shortly.

“ Amazing place!!! No single complaint. Fantastic people,atmosphere and music. Wonderful beach just steps away from the hotel's lobby. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Exceptional choice of food and drinks. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Fantastic views from the balconies (wether they are overlooking the ocean or the canal). Very convenient connections with the town. Going to Cuba again this year, and definitely Playa Caleta!!!
“ Top Tip: Some 10 minutes walk from the hotel is Casa de Al. Amazing restaurant just on the beach in the former house of Al Capone.
