Theo Sunset Bay Holiday Village Hotel

“ This is a relatively new holiday complex with a great view to sea and Coral Bay though getting to the beach is not as easy as this implies.
The apartments are adequately furnished with good and efficient heating which is required in the evenings at this time of year.Strangely most appear to have one window without a curtain so it is bright at night unless you do what we did and black it out with spare towels and pillows. The towels also seem to have had a really long shelf-life.
The staff, mainly Russian or Roumanian are outstandingly helpful with excellent English.
Breakfasts were good and varied which sadly cannot be said of the evening meals. We would echo other comments and suggest you eat elsewhere at night.
The location is attractive but you probably would benefit from hiring a car. It is a long way [4 miles] to the centre of Paphos - though there is a regular and cheap bus service [1 Euro] along the coast road.

“ Top Tip: Fo rreally excellent Cypriot food eat at Seven St Georges [It's quite hard to find in Geriskipou but well worth it] in the evening or visit Hondros near Paphos Harbour.
Andy Phillips is also well worth using for car hire.

“ Good staff, nice rooms, terrible food,cold and cold plates. Boring menu repeated daily. Freezing outdoor pool, very cold indoor pool.

“ Top Tip: Great restaurant in Coral Bay called THE BAY. Expensive but nice. (3km away!)

“ Well laid out individual groups of apartments, most with good sea views. Near main road but insulated from noise by position. Apartment smart, clean, but with limited equipment if self catering. Good public areas - restaurant spacious with good view over infinity pool and reception area (with wifi) and bar welcoming.
Buffet meals generally good although some of the meat dishes were not very tender. Staff good natured and helpful.
Pool area well equiped with good sea and mountain views, but nearest (very small) beach several minute's walk down slope

“ Top Tip: Nearest supermarket five minutes walk away, but opened late and had limited stock. Better one 3km away near Coral Bay

“ This was our second visit to Theo Sunset Bay and we were not to be dissapointed. We were even allocated the same studio apartment with its sea and countryside views towards Coral Bay. The night time views are even more spectacular.
As before the staff were extremely friendly and ready to help with any problem, not that we had any! On this occasion we went for the half board option and were not at all dissapointed, with the meals served offering excellent value. Normally we would go to the local tavernas, but have to admit whilst we missed out on some of the more authentic dishes, we did make a considerable saving and the holiday really worked out value for money. There is a beach about 200 metres away, but it cannot really be compared to the beach at Coral Bay and is not suitable for the less mobile. We pre-booked a hire car at the airport for our stay as we always travel out and about, but for those just wanting to travel locally to Coral Bay or Paphos the bus stop is outside of the hotel.
From what we observed this is an excellent hotel and environment for those with young children and the layout of holiday village (self contained apartments) allows for a higher level of privacy from the standard hotel setup.

“ Top Tip: Depends what you want, but a hire car will give more freedom if you want to travel further a field.
For those wanting more authentic none hotel food turn right out of the hotel for a number of local tavernas all within walking distance.
