Good location right in the heart of Kato Paphos.

Hotel was great - I have a walking stick and they were prepared to move me into a more suitable room, no problem. The pool area is very quiet - very much for older people and those wanting a quiet time. Apartment was lovely, well equiped, opposite a huge supermarket which was very handy, main reception staff excellent - helpful and spoke good English. I would go back.

Top Tip: Near by is St Paul's Pillars run by an English couple which was very good, also even closer was Mother's Taverna run by a pair of Cypriot brothers, fantastic.

This is my 3rd stay at the Basillica studio apartments. As a solo traveller the location is perfect, I was a little disappointed that the hotel is now quite shabby, nothing has been updated in the past 10yrs, however the rooms are very clean, towels and bedding changed regularly. The pool area is lovely and the staff pleasant. I shall be rebooking next year with Travel Republic, the flights and transfer were very good.

Top Tip: Supermarket opposite, Gorgona Restaurant was excellent, food and staff, made me feel very welcome

We arrived on Sunday night 19th June. We were told by the Basilica management team we were being moved as they had burst pipes on one of there floors. We were moved to the Paphos Gardens which is the other side of the town. Although the room was an upgrade further bedroom the condition left allot to be desired.

I did not book the Paphos Gardens as I wished to be more central. We had to get taxi's every night.

There was no notification at all to inform me of these changes, it seems to they accepted your booking with the intention of moving us any way.

I have friends staying and working in Paphos and the Basilica complex have been selling of rooms.

The apartments were basic and tidy, albeit a little more cleaning could have been done. Seems to be the norm in Cyprus - not enough time to clean the floors properly. Our two bed apartment overlooked the pool and the restaurant (as we had asked) and the folk at reception would jump through hoops to please you.

Only downside was the lack of anything for the kids to do (other than the pool) - no kids club open, small activity room closed all the time. However location was really good and central. Due to the lack of any kid friendly activity, we asked if we could relocate to Paphos Gardens (sister resort) which had full entertainment package. This was no problem and we spent last 10 days there, which pleased the kids and me as well (more to do and less moaning from bored kids).
All in all, Basilica is ideal for adults. Just not so much for those with kids!

Top Tip: Supermarket across the road (selling all and sundry) and Debenhams next door (wife loved it) - close to the harbour (but it's pricy down there) but loads of restaurants everywhere. Can't say we had one bad meal in Cyprus. Prices range from 30 Euro to 100 Euro for dinner for four with wine (or two!). Mostly averaging around 60 Euro.
