Had another great stay at the Roman Hotel. The bar staff were brilliant as usual, the young guy at the pool bar is lovely and can't do enough for you. George in the main bar, is really friendly and professional, very good and certainly knows his drinks. The reception staff were all very friendly and helpful as usual. Coco the grey parrot us the star attraction at the hotel is a wonderful character.
The only problem was the air conditioning, it hadn't yet been turned on when I arrived at the hotel, and had to ask a few times about it, but the owner of the hotel, Mr Raftis did rectify this on the second evening. So happy that was sorted.
“ Top Tip: There is a good beach, near to the hotel, with a bar and facilities, to find it walk to Bens' bar and turn left down the hill. Ben's bar do a great all day breakfast for less than 3 euros. Chloes chinese restaurant down by the harbour is first class, try the prawn and lychees and the sizzling duck. Tea for Two is great value for money, the portions are massive though, but they did divide a meal of fish and chips between two of us, so for just over 8 euros was exceptional value. Nostalgia across from the hotel is also very good and does traditional cypriot cuisine. One to avoid Aphrodities on Tomb of the Kings Road, worst meal of the week, ordered lemon sole, it wasn't cooked enough, toilets were filthy so dread to thing what the kitchens are like.

“ The Roman Hotel is located brilliantly - near to the harbour as well as the local beach and on bus routes for other places. The staff are very helpful and kind and nothing is too much trouble!
“ Top Tip: The local beach is fine with sun loungers, umbrellas and a great selection of food and drinks. There are other great eating places nearly and I particularly enjoyed Thomas' Jungle Taverna just down the road - Milka and Assad made me very welcome and gave great menu recommendations!

Really quirky hotel - the mirrors take you by surprise when turning a corner in a corridor! Staff very friendly.
Buffet breakfasts great (free tea/coffee) - dinner buffet (you have to buy your coffee though ???) a bit repetitive but good.
No kettle in rooms so no early morning tea before breakfast - come on guys!!
All in all, a good hotel. Try it!!
“ Top Tip: Archeological park fantastic. There are now TWO holes in the fence next to the hotel but entry cost minimal anyway. Use the buses - at €1 a trip got to be a bargain. A whole street load of bars and restaurants starting a hundred yards from the hotel - take your pick.

“ Gloriously extravagant external architecture and internal features, especially the mirrors and Ancient Greek murals in bedrooms and bathrooms as well as in public rooms. Good sized dining room, with a wide range of high quality options for breakfast and buffet-style evening meals. Features a modestly sized but pleasant swimming pool, and a parrot. Rooms are large and have balconies, some external to the building, and some internal to garden or pool. Some rooms adjacent to main road rather noisy, but acceptable. Staff welcoming and helpful.
“ Top Tip: The big pluses are proximity to the World Heritage Archaelological site of Kato Pafos, and the short walk to the beach, the harbour and a string of very reasonably priced restaurants. Pafos is itself rich in interest, and an excellent centre from which to explore the rest of Cyprus, helped by the splendid south coast motorway, and other enjoyable roads up the West Coast and into the mountains.
