Constantinos The Great Beach Hotel

“ From the time we arrived we found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The position of this hotel is excellent, directly on a very good sandy beach with all watersports. The road behind the hotel has many bars and restaurants. The food was good, especially the carvery although we felt there could have been more vegetables at times. We were all inclusive and felt we had very good value. We will definately return.

“ We were a bit worried about this hotel having seen some other reviews. We travelled in April which is before the main holiday season starts in Protarus therefore a number of bars, restaurants and shops in the area weren't open. However, we enjoyed our stay very much. I believe that it should be appreciated that 5 star hotels in most counties other than UK are judged on the facilities they offer rather than the quality of those facilities. This hotel would probably be 3 star in the UK but offers very good value for money in comparison. The dining rooms have been refurbished during the winter and now have lovely pale coloured marble flooring. The staff were, in the main, helpful, cheerful and polite. There was plenty of choice at all meals and we we had no problems finding something to suit everyone in our family party. We ordered packed lunches on 2 days and apart from needing some butter for the bread, they made a good effort and there was certainly plenty of food which kept us going all day. Some areas of the hotel are showing some signs of wear, however, I would expect this in a property which is open 12 months of the year and obviously operates a continuous programme of redecoration. Our bedroom was clean and furnished to a reasonable standard, on most days the room was cleaned and the bed made whilst we were at breakfast. The bathroom was spotless and appeared to have recently been refurbished. We joined in with some of the entertainment during the daytime, darts, boules etc. but there was no pressure to join in if you weren't inclined. In the evening, there was, live music which was very good, quizzes and bingo which were entertaining, and karaoke which was well supported and better than most. We used both indoor (lovely and warm) and outdoor (cold- as expected at this time of year) pools and found them to be clean and well kept. A good value hotel suitable for most guests

“ Stayed here for 1 week in mid March. The hotel and staff were very welcoming. We were supplied with tea and coffee on the first day but never afterwards, although we did get some from the reception. We were on half board which was a good job because Protaras was like a ghost town - everywhere was shut apart from two pubs. We also hired car (through Travelrepublic) and got to see the fantastic scenery which we always like to do.
All in all a very good and relaxing break

“ Top Tip: Go to the Sea caves at Cape Grecko for wonderful clear blue-green seas - down a side road laid with stones (next to the local tip) - I mean!
