Windmills Apartments

“ My husaband and myself have just returned from a weeks stay at Windmills apartments. Rooms were basic but clean. Bedding and towels changed twice during weeks stay. We were in block 4 which was at back of complex. It was quiet and had a view of the sea in the distance. We were half board and the breakfast was very basic. Restaurant and bar staff worked hard and were extremely helpfull. We would definitely return to apartments however would go self catering. Plenty of restaurants near by.

“ met by the grumpiest man on the island, he could hardly raise a grunt for you! they said he was night porter, probably a family member, but definitely a liability.rest of the staff were friendly and helpfull,overall place was good, rooms quite large, if a bit tired, tv in rooms was a waste of time, only non greek/cypriot channels was music channels (which were euro electro/synth garbage). needed to buy a mug for a decent sized cuppa! pool ok, bar/restaurant ok, though works were ongoing through the day. promised last day secure luggage store was not available. good location near to local beach and bars and restaurants and only around 20/25 mins walk into protaras with much better selection,

“ Top Tip: preferred eating in protaras, cheers good for burgers etc and fools and horses good for food, local beer about 2 euros and stella about 3, bus to protaras or agia napa only 1 euro single!

“ My husband & I both in our 50's had a very enjoyable week here in April 2012. It is a large complex consisting of apartments, large pool & kiddies pool, dive centre, restaurant, pub, take away, supermarket simply anything you could ask for. It is family owned & run & we found everyone to be very pleasant & helpful. We had bed & breakfast which was continental but more than sufficient & you could eat as much as you wanted. We did eat in the pub on 2 occasions as my husband wanted to watch football but we actually found we could eat of a much higher standard other places for the same price. I can't comment on the restaurant food. The apartments were the usual basic standard found in Greece, very few cooking utensils but were clean. They are definitely in need of a refurbish but probably the present state of the economy doesn't suffice them doing this. While we were staying they were updating a children's play area which should be very good for families. We would certainly stay there again, I think the whole complex is good value for the price you pay

“ Top Tip: The apartments are ideally situated, a 10 minute walk takes you to the Louis Althea Beach which is a lovely little sandy bay & I reckon very safe for children. There is the Baywatch water sports centre on the beach, & close by a supermarket & a very nice restaurant, Kalamies where you can eat either reasonably or top notch & very friendly. Lots of locals eat there at weekends. There is a bus stop directly outside the apartments & a 3 euro ticket lasts you all day in the area. We found our favourite Italian restaurant in Protaras though which is a 20min promenade walk or 5 min bus trip. It is Il Basilico opposite the Sunrise Beach Hotel & serves faboulous food ( complementary cocktails in April at least) & generous portions at a very affordable price. We ate there 4 evenings during our week's holiday!
