Hotel Ambassador – the Golden Goose is located in the historic and cultural centre of Prague - Wenceslas Square. Wenceslas Square is the centre of shopping and culture. Six hundred eighty-two meters long by sixty meters wide with a boulevard leading from the National Museum to Mustek, it is made up of a wonderful combination of historic buildings and retail outlets. Very close to the hotel are a number of theaters, museums, important banks, department stores, cafes, restaurants and clubs. Infact, the entire historic sites of Prague are easily accessible by foot. The tube station, Mustek, is only 50 m away; Prague airport, Ruzyne, 11 km away; the main train station, 1 km; Prague Castle, 2 km; Old Town Square, 400 m; the National Museum, 700 m; while the Congressional Centrum of Prague is 2 km away. History Prague city Hotel Ambassador – The Golden Goose was built in 1920 on the famous Wenceslas Square, in the centre of Prague. The history of Hotel Ambassador is rather ordinary, while, on the other hand, the history of the Golden Goose is quite humorous. The original owner was a very rich widow who had a young but very ugly and simple daughter. Although her daughter was very wealthy and of an age to be married, she remained single. As she never married, she became known in Prague as “The Golden Goose”. This is just a short exerp from our long history. In 1964 both hotels joined together and their proud history continues.

The hotel was in agood location and very clean and warm. Some areas, the dinning room and lounge lobby were dated decor. The bathroom was of a high standard.
The location in the centre of Prague was very good.
The breakfast was left on warming plates and dry and the fruit in the lobby was not well prepared.
Some staff were surley
On one evening whilst we were there prositutes were active in the lobby and the staff ignored the fact.
It was a reasonably quality hotel but not 5 star
“ Top Tip: Lots of good placesnearby to eat. Very close to old town

“ We stayed in the hotel for 4 nights. We requested a room overlooking the square. We booked through Travelrepublic who were very efficient. The room was extremely pleasant and clean. The domestic staff in the hotel were very pleasant and helpful, but the reception staff on occasions could be a little grim faced. The breakfast could have been improved on in its content and presentation. Location is excellent but can be noisey due to the busy movement of people in the square throughout the night. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and would return without hesitation.
“ Top Tip: Numerous restaurants of all tastes within a short walking distance.

We stayed in The Ambassador Zlata Husa Hotel and found it to be Exellent.
Ideally placed on Wenceslas Square, we were within easy walking distance of all the places of interest, and all that was "going on"!
Our accommodation was on a "bed and breakfast" basis as we wanted to eat out in the local restaurants and try the local food. Breakfast really was tremendous with a huge selection of superbly presented dishes that catered for ALL tastes in the form of a buffet. The hotel was clean, warm ( evening temeratures fell to near or below Zero) and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Wewould most certainly stay there again as it appeared to tick all our boxes.
“ Top Tip: Most places offered very good food and we tried several that met our needs within 200-300 yards of the Hotel itself. Drinks were quite cheap compared to this country and all contacts with staff was easy and we found them friendly and keen to know about "where we came from". As we are Welsh they seemed to want to know even more about our home land.

“ Cleaniness, staff and room could not be faulted but there was a distinct lack of staff and atmosphere at dinner. On two evenings the hotel bar and dining room was served by just one waiter making service very slow, also the menu was the same each evening and had limited choice.

“ Standards high, as would be expected from the Hilton. The location is not close to the centre and would be better described as " 200mtrs from the Metro system with frequent trains to the heart of the City in 10 minutes "
