Surrounding area was not immediately appealing, but the hotel proved to be extremely clean and the rooms were large, well-equipped and comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and there was always a supply of hot water. No tea-making facilities, but this may be the same throughout the Czech Republic. Breakfast was good and the dining area was pleasant.
The bar area was dark and they closed early, but again this may be because it was out of season.
The staff do not speak English and at times it was difficult to make ourselves understood, but all in all we enjoyed our stay.
“ Top Tip: Do book a tour with a guide in the Old Square. They all speak very good English and are very knowledgable. It's quite a long day, but well worth it. You do stop for lunch and later for a drink and cake on the boat trip (all included in the price).

Surprised when I was asked to pay a further 500 CZ Koruna as my package involved a late flight and I was charged for a late check out. The restaurant was very expensive 1300 CZ K for 2 x steak and chips with a bottle of Czech wine.
No kettle in the room.
Breakfast was exactly the same each day.
Looking to book accomodation for 25 students and 5 staff in April / May 2011 will not be using Aramis.

Top Tip:

Hotel Aramis is pleasant, quiet and civilised. It is an ideal place to stay if you want to get out in the morning, after the breakfast buffet they lay on, and explore Prague - but is a reasonable distance from the city centre meaning it is not that suitable for those who want to go out clubbing in the evenings.
The rooms are clean and tidy, the fittings are good quality and the place is pleasantly quiet in the evening. However, there was no air-conditioning in the rooms we stayed in, so if you are visiting in the summer (when the temperature can climb) then be prepared to sleep with the windows open.
A pleasant quiet hotel suitable for those who want a pleasant quiet trip to Prague.
“ Top Tip: If you head out of the hotel to the main road you can buy a bus ticket in the many nearby shops for 18CK for a 30 minute ticket or 26CK for a 75 minute ticket - allowing you to use the bus or subway for 30 or 75 minutes after the ticket is first stamped. The 133 bus takes you down into town, and back, and there's one along every 5 minutes. this makes traveling to and from the hotel very easy.

We were due to stay at the Hotel Aramis in Prague but due to water damage, got switched to hotel Ehrlich. They said the new hotel was 4* but it was not the same. I have stayed at Hotel Aramis before and it is a nice traditional hotel, full of character. Our replacement hotel was soulless. Additionally, the towels were coarse and the shower couldn't stay on one temperature- leading to both cold and scalding water when on a medium setting.
Although there was not much that could be done about water damage, we felt that the replacement was inadequate seeing as we chose the hotel we did because we liked the style. There was a contingency plan but it wasn't amazing.
On the bright side; it was quiet, the porters spoke English, breakfast was included, there is a bus into town that leaves from nearby, it is walkable into the city and there is a supermarket nearby.
Overall, not amazing but it probably wouldn't have been so bad if we hadn't have known about the alternative. Probably comparable to a Travelodge in its style.
