Set in the heart of Royal Deeside just an hours drive from Aberdeen Glendavan House was built as a shooting lodge in 1886. The house stands in its own extensive grounds - seven acres of natural pine woodland overlooking Loch Davan - within the newly created Cairngorms National Park. The grounds are home to varied Highland wildlife including regularly sighted red squirrels and roe deer. The loch is a protected bird sanctuary - in the autumn thousands of greylag geese settle on their journey south sharing territory with whooper swans mallard ducks...

The Aberdeen Arms Rooms are being operated as self catering hotel rooms with budget prices. There is a choice of 4 large double or family en-suite rooms available and 2 budget rooms with shared bathroom. All are recently refurbished and offer shower room accommodation which can sleep from 1 to 4 people. The prices for these rooms are very cheap as the service does not include breakfast and you will need to pick up the keys from 2 Mill Place Tarland. All rooms have self catering equipment e.g fridge microwave kettle and toaster available for making breakfast and light meals have double twin or triple beds and all have modern flat screen TVs with DVD.Downstairs there is an excellent restaurant (take-away available) and bar ran as a separate business which will happily supply lunches evening meals and fish and chips. Cheaper rooms may have some noise from the restaurant or bar during some evenings.

Struan Hall is quietly situated in two acres of ground half a mile from the village centre. The House was formerly built on a site 5 miles to the east of Aboyne where it was known as Tillydrine House. In 1904 it was moved stone by stone to its present location and has recently been subjected to substantial but sympathetic refurbishment. Our aim is to provide modern facilities in traditional surroundings. All bedrooms have private bathrooms central heating TV and TeaCoffee making facilities. A spacious Lounge and Dining Room overlook our front garden.

We pride ourselves in using the best local produce in our menus including Aberdeen Angus Beef Lamb and Game from the local hills and farms. There are numerous activities and attractions to do in the area and being located between the villages of Aboyne and Ballater the Hotel backs onto the Muir of Dinnet Nature Reserve with splendid woodland walks around Loch Kinord and Loch Davan from our doorstep.
