Majestic Colonial Punta Cana

“ We had a fantastic ten days at Majestic Colonial Punta Cana.Beautiful resort with well kept gardens. Hotel very clean. Daily maid service excellent. Good choice of restaurants with variety of food to cater for everyone. Steakhouse restaurant particularly good for dinner. The best swimming pool we've seen, meandering through the hotel. Lying by the pool, it was so big that you had your own bit of the pool! Quite noisy near swim up pool bar with daily activities, but pool is so big that you can lie near other pool bar and relax listening to background Dominican music. Bliss! Beautiful beach with warm turquoise water. Truly paradise! No problem getting sunbeds at either swimming pool or on beach. Friendliness of staff quite varied. Some very friendly and helpful, some need to learn to smile. If you speak Spanish or tip well you seem to get better attention at bars and restaurants! Only problem we had at this hotel was that we were on the top floor and the lift kept breaking down! Although it was a bonus being on the top floor because of the extra ceiling space into the roof, making room feel bigger. Jacuzzi bath, shower and toilet were not separate from bedroom, only a frosted door separated shower and toilet from beds. Strange at first but got used to it. Don't know if our kids were teenagers how happy they would have been about this layout!

“ Top Tip: We booked our flight, hotel and taxi transfer through Travel Republic. Everything went without a hitch. The taxi transfer was especially good with A2B Transfers. They were waiting for us at Arrivals and we were taken direct to the hotel in an air-conditioned people carrier while others from the flight boarded tour operator buses to a long trip round all the hotels! Return transfer as good, checking in before the buses arrived. I would highly recommend Travel Republic. Their customer service is excellent and the value for money is fantastic. We saved £1000 booking with Travel Republic instead of the high street tour operators. About to book our next holiday with them!

“ Was upgraded free on arrival to the Majestic Elegance and given full use of both hotels.
Both have friendly and helpful staff, public areas were immaculate and rooms were huge. Entertainment nightly in the theatre and numerous bars and restaurants to try.
Transfer from airport organised by Travel Republic was excellent - waiting for me on arrival and picked up for departure exactly on time. The taxi company even provided me with a rep who visited the hotel daily.

“ The only point I would criticise them for is the wedding parties that 'invade' the other guests with no regard for them. People sitting in quiet areas of the pool were invaded by large rowdy groups bringing with them their disco music. Wedding parties on the roof appartments going on till the early hours with no regard for the other guests. There should be an area set aside for these parties so that the other guests do not have to suffer this. For this reason I have only given the hotel an above average rating else it would have been excellent.

“ Top Tip: Take a taxi ride to the Hard Rock Cafe in Punta Cana
