We stayed for one night only and was very pleased with the room, we stayed in the annex at the back of the main building. Shops and pubs were in walking distance, the Sambuca restaurant next door is really good value for money, wished we'd stayed longer will definitely be using it in future.

The Queens Head is a nice friendly pub that's recently been refurbished downstairs in the bar area. In the bar we offer FREE WiFi to all of our guests as well as FREE parking on site. We are in a perfect location of Durham just 1 mile away from the city centre. The bar provides an excellent menu with both a choice from our traditional menu to our chefs specials boards. Everything on our menu is homemade. Our bedrooms are basic but kept very clean and tidy. All rooms are with shared bathroom facility's but each resident gets fresh hand towels and bath mats. good welcome ,clean bedding and towels but i had to wash out kettle and scrub taps as full of black mould inside witch fell into kettle when filling it up ,carpets dirty and in bad need of decorating .it was not bad priced with good breakfast but wont be staying there again.

We stayed here on Saturday 2/3 and enjoyed it, bit further from city than we thought. had never been to durham before and didn't like all the steps , hills etc., but hotel was clean,tidy and comfortable.
