“ Wonderful hotel in the peaceful setting of a private island on the Nile. Grounds, pool and garden area were excellent. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Food was of a very high standard. We will return.

“ The location is good, nice and quiet with great bird watching on a Nile tributary.
You have to get a boat from the mainland to the hotel (free) but it's only about 10 minutes each way.
One problem with this hotel is that there is no useful shop anywhere there or nearby - you have to go to the mainland if you need so much as a bar of chocolate (or coke, or a comb etc.)
Another problem is their telephone system. The phones ring (once) randomly (including at 1.30 in the morning) several times a day. The management has known about this for a while but has not fixed it (We just disconnected the phone.)
The room was comfortable, breakfast OK (nothing to write home about) but the restaurant management should refrain from shouting across the dining room at their female staff while the guests are eating.
Not a bad hotel but certainly not 5 star - 3 would be more accurate.

“ Top Tip: This isn't really a top tip - more of a warning for vegetarians. Vegetables and fruit are pretty rare in Aswan cafes (we didn't really find anywhere that deserves the name restaurant).

“ The Hotel is ideal for families with small children, staff are very friendly and with the boat service, very easy to access the corniche and restaurants that abound the town area. The food at breakfast was magnificent and the rooms comfortable and adequate and were cleaned every day to a high standard. I would definately reccomend this hotel.

“ Top Tip: The Hotel being situated on an island has all the amenities and crossing to the mainland all sites are accessable around Aswan, The High Dam by local taxi for seven persons plus a Nubian village the whole tour of 3.5 hours cost just 60 Egypt Pounds at the time we were getting Egypt £9.68 to 1 English Pound.
