Dana Beach Resort Hotel

“ 2nd visit to the Dana Beach, even better than before, new restaurants and bars opened since last visit, spoilt for choice. Food excellent, rooms immaculately clean and staff go the extra mile. Hotel on the beautifull beach and only 15 minutes from airport, 20 minutes from marina. Can`t wait to go back.

“ We came here by taxi from the Sunrise Palace Makadi Bay and our expectations were very high. Given a room overlooking a road but Iworked out it got the sun through the windows first thing in the morning which is what we like.
Still very windy and cold in the morning and evening.
Plenty of restaurants but all buffet style. All food very good and hot especially the Chinese.
Two heated pools. Great when in them but not when you get out.
Spotlessly clean.
Beach/pool bars always shouting and whistling at one another. Very annoying.
Bathroom had no ventilation so was always steamed up and the hairdryer was from the 50's!
Predominantly a German hotel which I don't mind as I speak the language. Their English was limited.
Bottled beer served in ice buckets and wine was offered by the glass or bottle. Very unusual and most welcome. If this was offered in our first hotel, The Sunrise, Makadi Bay, we would have scored it higher.
This hotel, Dana had a better lounge/reception/bars area/choice.
Sunrise the better bathroom facilities, pool and restaurants.

“ Of the three hotels in Hurghada/Luxor we stayed at during our holiday, this was the busiest. Large German contingent. Friendly, helpful staff, good selection of restaurants with average to good and sometimes very good food. Nearly everyone on full-board. Good value for money. A big plus point is it is only around 15 mins from Hurghada airport.

“ Overall this hotel was excellent value for money. It was clean, and staff very courteous and friendly. It was so large, that a boat was provided from the reception area, to access the beach area. There was a saltwater lake running through the hotel and pedalos were available for guests to use too.
Around the pools the sunbeds were very clean and comfy, there were some four poster type beds around two of the pools, with white gauze curtaining.
It all looked stunning, and the quality of the furnishings throughout the hotel and restaurants was excellent.
There were numerous bars and approx six restaurants to choose from. All were self-service but with waiters serving drinks. Food quality and standards were high.
The rooms vary, and 'promo' rooms come without a balcony or terrace, but you can pay to upgrade if you wish. We didn't bother, as so little time was spent in the rooms.
The beach area was brilliant with comfortable beds, surrounded by wicker wind brakes for comfort and privacy. The bar on the beach served food and drinks too.
We would definately return to this hotel, even though being British, we were in the minority. Consequently, the rooms TV didn't have many channels in English, and were mainly German.
You could get a local bus outside the hotel taking you 'Down town' for 5 pounds (50p). This took 15 minutes or so. However there were plenty of newer and fixed price shops opposite the hotel entrance, selling almost everything you may need.
The Dana Beach is a 'flagship' of the PickAlbatross chain of hotels, and you can see why.

“ Top Tip: You can walk out into the sea on a sandbank to look for tropical fish. Have a camel or horse ride along the beach and jetty.
