“ Despite the current political unrest in the country, it was a very peaceful, relaxing holiday in El Gouna. The hotel boasts significant architectural characteristics and beauty with its excellent location and surroundings. Half-board based food service was generally very good despite occasional overpowering seasonings. Service in all aspects of the hotel was superb. One complaint we had was over smoking issue-smoking seems to be permitted everywhere, in restaurant, by the pool areas and in the beach etc. As family with little ones, we strongly felt that it definitely affected our holiday enjoyment and health.

“ An excellent hotel with attentive staff. One or two areas of the enormous site are in need of a little TLC but otherwise everything is great. Pool is large and does not seem to get crowded. Small exercise at the back is pleasant and warms up as the day progresses. Food first class with wide choices on the buffet. Dine around system is OK but could be a little more generous.
“ Top Tip: Visit the Marina at night and check on the hotel newsletter at breakfast for events in and around El Gouna. Take the lagoon trip and marvel at some of the houses built on the lagoon.

Hotel was lovely - wonderfully friendly staff and nice facilities. Really couldn't fault the customer service - from breakfast staff to gym manager you couldn't have asked for better attention! There were lots of families with young children there so the main pool isn't the quietest of places but there are plenty of alternatives - lagoon side or beach. The only disappointing bit was htat the snorkeling was nowhere near as good as Sharm - perhaps if you had gone out on a trip but certainly not from the hotel.
The marina was near by and although quiet had plenty nice restaurants and bars - no need to stay in the hotel every night (so don't change your mind as I did and suddenly go half board!)

Top Tip:
Take a 'toc-toc' to the marina or downtown - great fun and only a little scary!
Visit the Orient 1001 and enjoy the freshly made pittas and lovely spicy dishes (go early in the holiday so you can go again!)
Take mozzie stuff - the little devils really enjoy a good nibble - even this early in the year!
Be prepared for Hurghada airport refurbishment - eek! Chaos on arrival although departure was significantly better
Finally read other travellers recommendations on buying your visa (travelex in ariport) and transportation to hotel - didn't rate the resort hopper service :(

There was a breeze blowing nearly ever day. This caused a dust storm on the one day but normally made the heat more tolerable. This was unexpected by us but is apparently common in this area.
We prefer to be served for dinner rather than have self service, although this facility is limited in the hotel we had ample choice by using the 'dine around' option used within the resort.

The hotel consists of a main building and several adjoining buildings and offers a total of 456 rooms. It is great choice for a beach holiday, especially for those travelling with children (the water is shallow). Divers will appreciate the diving school which is located on the hotel premises. Other facilities at this air-conditioned establishment include a lobby, 24-hour reception and check-out service, a hotel safe, currency exchange facilities, lift access to the rooms, a hairdressing salon and auditorium. Younger guests can let off steam in the children's playground and kids' club. There is a cafe, bar, disco and restaurant within the complex, and conference facilities are also available. Wireless Internet access and a laundry service are also on offer.
“ Not accommodating to British, mostly for Germans and Russians, no entertainment for English, but nice hotel, friendly staff. If being the only 2 British there doesnt bother you then its a wonderful holiday.

It is one of the biggest resorts in Hurghada with 367 rooms consisting of private bathroom with bathtub/ shower, hairdryer, air conditioning, direct dial telephone, mini fridge, cable/satellite TV and a balcony or terrace. “ There are good and bad points about this hotel. Firstly the rooms are nice, spacious and well maintained. However, make sure you ask for a pool view as some of the non pool facing rooms can look out over building sites! The swimming pools and gardens are also very nice and well maintained.

“ We spent a week at Aqua Vista in January 2012 and the overall experience was excellent. Many of the en suite rooms enjoy inspiring views and are cleaned regularly and efficiently. The beds are comfortable and the staff at reception are very approachable, rapidly attending to any problems you may encounter and often going out of their way to help you.
