Sunrise Royal Makadi Hotel

“ excellent complex, 7 different resturants which were very good , you do have to prebook but that was not a problem. entertainment was good for all , young and old. The complex was very clean and room was good.
Did not like the 1 hour forward which the hotel does for "more Sunshine" this is very confusing.
I would go back again. A very enjoyable holiday not long enough.

“ Top Tip: I was only there for a week and did not leave the complex only to go Diving.

“ We stayed at this hotel 3 years ago and it is even better than back then. They have added 4 new a la carte restaurants and kept up excellent standards at existing places to eat whilst doing so. You need to be 'Ultra' AI to get access to these restaurants, but believe me it's worth any extra you have to pay to do this.
The staff are super helpful, very friendly and made our 3 week break an absolute delight.
The gym is great, we used it often and found the equipment of a very high standard.
We booked 4 massages each at the spa and they were fantastic.
We had been in touch with the hotel by email prior to our stay to ask about some specific requests, as this holiday was for our 20th wedding anniversary, and they kindly made sure they supported with those requests.

“ Top Tip: The Asian, T-Bone & Bedouin restaurants are excellent, we went to these the most and loved the food they served.
Make sure you go snorkelling while you're there, the Red Sea is incredible. There are lovely areas of coral reef to see in front of the hotels on either side of the Sunrise Royal Makadi.

“ The pool choices aswell as the food options available were very good and much enjoyed. I was not so keen on the beach set up and find the one at Fort Arabesque (next door) to be a lot better. The waiters in some of the restaurants were much more pleasant and efficient (Around the World) than in some of the other restaurants (the main buffet one and the Mexican) but otherwise all ok. In summary, at the end of the holiday when asking both the children (aged 9 & 10)which hotel they preferred, they both, completely independently, said Fort Arabesque which is odd as Sunrise has so much more, except perhaps personalisation aswell as a good beach. We all enjoyed the holiday and would certainly consider coming again BUT may be tempted back to Fort Arabesque

“ Top Tip: Other than Diving, there is nothing to really see anywhere near the hotel. So decide what is most important in your holiday and hotel requirements and read other peoples reviews, as the majority vote is usually pretty accurate

“ The food was poor and at times we struggled to find anything decent to eat. The room was adequate although the curtin was torn. There was a lack of entertainment in the evenings. Once you left the beach about 4:30 there was nothing really to do until meal time. The entertainment ran from 9 till 10 (there was then outside music but it was to cold to sit outside!). There were no places to go outside of the hotel so if you just want sun and to get drunk its a great place otherwise sorry no.
