“ This is a well run hotel. The staff are excellent. Buffet breakfast is good, my only minor complaint would be a better fresh fruit/yoghurt selection. The small restaurant on the ground floor provides excellent quality food at a reasonable price. The pool area is immaculate. The situation of hotel is brilliant overlooking the Nile, and if you like spectacular views of the illuminated West Bank and the gorgeous sun sets, choose a Nile view room. The hastle on the streets from taxi/felluca/horse drawn carriages is worse I am afraid but they are desperate as the tourist trade is so low just now.
“ Top Tip: Go to the west bank and have a meal in El Mesala hotel roof top restaurant with brilliant news, good food at ridiculously low prices. Follow that by a nightcap at the Blue Sky restaurant just a 2 minute walk away and sit a few feet away from the Nile looking over to the East Bank and Luxor temple.

This hotel is in an ideal location for visiting Luxor. We were given a Nile View room, and each morning and evening we would sit outside with a cup of tea, watching the world go by, its was so relaxing. The choice of food for breakfast was varied and fresh, and plentiful.
The pool was a little haven of tranquility and you were not aware of the roads nearby.
The staff are all very attentive and friendly, I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
“ Top Tip: Local bread shop only a 5 minute walk away. Lovely local bread and a wealth of choice. Mix with the locals and try it out.

I have stayed here three times in the past and this hotel still retains professional and friendly staff and well maintained rooms. Also, the hotel seems to have a permamanet 25% off bar and food/restaurant prices.
However, I do suggest that clients do not have a Nile view room owing to the traffic noise and cruise boat generators running 24/7. The city/pool view is just as interesting, especially when dusk arrives and the many mosques switch their colourful lights on.

Top Tip:
If there's only one restaurant you go to it must be the Italian close to St.Josephs Hotel. It is Italian run and the food is superb. Walk along the side street by the side of this hotel for about 300m, it's just past a not-very-good Indian. The taxi ride costs 10 EgyP.
Another good restaurant (Egyptian) is the one with a vertical lift outside (look carefully for it!), close to MacDonalds beyond the entrance to the Luxor Temple. Take the lift to the 4th floor for the restaurant. The cafe below has free wifi.
