“ The Pavillon benefits from immediate access to The Winter Palace's wonderful garden and swimming pool and all it's restaurants. I have stayed there several times and never had any reason to complain. All the staff are very friendly and attentive.
“ Top Tip: Take a Caleche or taxi to the following restaurants :Puddleducks, Jewel on the Nile, Lantern, and Pizza Roma for a change from the Hotel.

“ We had 9 nights of comfort at the Pavilion Winter, a modern hotel which shares the gardens, pool and some staff with the Old Winter Palace. The staff are tremendous, and the double room we had was newly decorated, well furnished and comfortable. We felt our B&B stay was excellent value, and we liked the location: it's 5 minutes from the Luxor Temple, and close to many shops, restaurants and to the Nile.

Top Tip:
When you emerge onto the Corniche street from the Old Winter Palace you will be besieged by taxi drivers, kalesh (horse-drawn carriages) drivers, and other traders trying to sell their stuff. They are desperate in Luxor right now for tourist business as most are staying away from Egypt. It means prices are good but the hassle gets a bit much.
You can try going out the hotel staff exit, which is near to the Pavillion: it takes you into 'real' Luxor, and there is no hassle there, just busy Luxor getting on with its business. We preferred this way out in the end.
