Superb hotel with its own private beach and reef. Excellent in-house diving school. All entertainment and restaurants are in-house as the nearest town is about 30 km away. There are a choice of restaurants with an excellent variety of well-prepared dishes. We stayed on an all-inclusive basis and value for money was outstanding.
The hotel is large with extensive grounds. There are seven swimming pools (with at least one more under construction) and a large waterpark which is a top attraction for the kids.
The hotel is modern with the rooms arranged in small two-storey blocks (usually six rooms per block). The rooms are in Nubian style with domed ceilings. The on suite has a bath and shower, there is a trouser press, fridge, TV, balcony and (of course) and efficient air conditioning system.
“ Top Tip: Go out with the dive school to El Shoona and Abu Dabbab. Even if you only snorkel you will be guaranteed to find sea turtles grazing on the bottom in only about 2 to 5 meters of water.

“ WE were a party of 7 , 2 seniors ,2 adults and 3 children 7,10,and 14.We found the family rooms excellent clean and spacious the food good ,for all inclusive the quality of wine and coffee very good .The staff were very professional and courtious. The beach set up was relaxing with nice sunbeds with shades an ai bar behind and a lunch time restaurant looking on to the sea.Volleyball ,boule and all sorts of activities were organised .the gem of the resort for us was the amazing house coral reef easily accessed from the jetty .It was clean teaming with beautiful coral and fish we even saw a turtle. The water park was great we all had lots of fun and the staff were really helpful. All in all we should definately return
“ Top Tip: Do make the effort to go to the coral reef as a fairly inexperienced snorkler it was an amazing underwater world with beautiful corals and fish, they have several Napoleon fish living there and passing turtles and dolfin find a quiet spot

great hotel for families or couples, not so good for anyone who is a party animal (nearest town with entertainment past 11pm is Hugarda which is 2 hours away!).
Good food in buffet style with differnet themes, entertainment for kids and grown ups until 11pm,beach and reef right on your doorstep (diving school pricey but excellent tutors and guides) and snorkelling fab.
rooms and all general areas spotlessly clean at all times and very friendly and helpful staff

Although all inclusive, be aware of hidden charges at different parts of the hotel at different times of the day.
Also be aware of Egyptian tummy which really drains your energy, the usual English medicines do not work. The on site pharmacy is the best bet at £20 for a course of tablets for 1 person.
This hotel is very remote, if you wander outside be prepared for builders rubble dumped around the periphery and also at the side of the staff quarters is an unofficial rubbish dump.
I would rate the hotel at best a 3/4 star and not a 5 star.
On the plus side you are on the edge of the Red Sea, good for snorkelling.
“ Top Tip: Stay within the confines of the hotel is my tip.

“ We had a fantastic time and the service of all of the staff was excellent. We couldn't fault the Akassia Swiss Hotel in any way.
“ Top Tip: If you have children, there is a water park on site, but for an extra charge. We all loved it but didn't know it was there until we arrived!
