Pensee Hotel

“ If you go to this hotel it is essential you book transfer to and from airport. We did not and found that there was one taxi firm at the airport who had the monopoly and wanted to charge us £50 to take us to hotel. We managed to haggle down to £30 but no fun being stranded at the airport.
Shocked to discover at arrival at the hotel that it catered mainly for Germans. Nothing against Germans but no information available to find out what was the routine or what was happening.
Fortunately on the third day another English couple arrived who lived in Switzerland and they made the holiday. We had a great time after that.
Would recommend going into the desert on the quad bikes available from the beach and also the one hour horse riding. Its worth doing the snorkling but recommend ensuring they provide wet suites as the sea was very cold in February.
Concerning the currency the Egyptians did not welcome the Egyptian Pound prefering the Euro. Im sure we lost out with exchanging English Pounds.
Food at the hotel was very fussy and appeared to cater to the German palette but we were able to find something on offer to suit at mealtimes.
The hotel was very clean and Egyptian staff very friendly. They certainly deserved their tips at the end of the week as they work such long hours and so diligently.
On the whole a very enjoyable holiday.

“ For a week of just relaxing and lounging at the pool and/or beach this is an excellent venue. Younger people might find it isolated. The staff was wonderful and the hotel rep arranged a pick up for me despite the info from Travel republic that transfer was not included in my booking, which to me was wonderfully helpful.

I loved the staff and the hotel and will surely venture that way again
