“ Great hotel but there was no other English people there. The majority of the guests were Italian. There was nothing to do other than stay in the hotel complex so if you want a totally relaxing time in a great hotel then this is the place for you.

Re above answers - the hotel appeared exclusively Italian. Even the entertainment team - Bravo- appeared to speak very little English.
I would be very interested to know by which system the Solaya was rated 5 Star. From my experience I would put it at no more than 3 Star.
The effect of booking with TravelRepiblic meant no access to a rep. as only the hotel and flight are booked. Although we were offered an airport transfer for £124 - for a journey of 5 kms or 3 miles!!
No access to a rep meant we were given little information from a poor English speaking hotel desk receptionist!! In the middle of our second week we found out that we could have used the amenitites of the adjacent hotel - The Lamaya.
“ Top Tip: The coral reef just a couple of hundred yards from the beach was fantastic which was the only positive thing about the holiday you sold.

I was just about to write to you when this e-mail arrived!
We were not given our choosen hotel on arrival it was fully booked......they moved us to a German hotel the Samaya. We were the only English people there! The children could not use the kids club as everything was in German, the children were not included in anything, even the one hour show on an evening was in german so they could not understand anything. The laugage barrier caused many problems, no trips, all signs in german, in all because the children were unhappy.....so were we.
In all a frustrating trip.....not what we booked.
I would like a response asap.

“ Very foreign (not many British). All entertainment is in Italian. Hotel is very clean and comfotable. Rooms cleaned daily. Food simple but reasonable amount of choice. Lots of pasta and pizza (Italian influence), which is very tasty. Hotel staff extremely helpful, all speak English at varying levels of competency. Coral just off the beach is amazing and is worth the stay on its own.

“ I wrote to you when on my Holiday and you have not bothered replying. In truth there was nothing wrong with our Hotel accomodation and the staff were all very nice. My bad comments above are reflected if you asked the question "Suitable for ENGLISH Families etc etc" This hotel specialises in the Italian Market. The reception surprised when we turned out to be English and they commented that we were only the 2nd English Family to stay there since they opened. We were the only English Family for the 2 weeks we were there. This was not a major problem for myself as used the hotel as a base for diving. However my Wife and Tennage Daughters had a pretty miserable time. All notices in Italian, all entertainment in Italian. This should have been advised to us and we are not happy about. Please contact me to discuss this directly
