Dont use the taxi service a2b from airport(waited 40 mins on arrival and took 1 hour to get to the airport on departure) the hotel only 2 mins by taxi.

“ I stayed at this hotel over the Christmas period with my partner, daughter, parents and brother. We arrived on Christmas eve and attended the Christmas gala that night, the food was lovely and the staff were very helpful and were constantly topping up our drinks.

The hotel is very large and the facilities overall were quite good. The swimming pools and outside areas were always really clean and so were the restaurants and the bar. Our housekeeper was very good and our room and bathroom were always kept clean but my parents housekeeper wasn't as good and didn't seem to be cleaning the room very thoroughly. Clean towel pools were available every day.

There are 6 restaurants on site, the main restaurant, an English restaurant, Lebanese restaurant, Chinese restaurant, Indian restaurant and Italian restaurant. You can eat in the main restaurant as many times as you like but you can only eat in the others once. The food in the main restaurant was pretty basic they occasionally did things well such as roast lamb and roast beef. There is a children's area in the main restaurant and it serves burgers, sausages and chips every day. There is also a snack bar outside which serves burger, chips, pizza and kebab from 12.30 until around 5. The food in the English restaurant was awful, but the food in the Chinese, Lebanese, Italian and Indian restaurants was very good.

The majority of the staff were very good and they were very efficient at clearing away your plates and glasses. There were plenty of staff members around the swimming pools and they will reserve you sun beds of your choice every day, for a price!

The children's pool and slides were very good and kept my brother well entertained. The children's pool was lovely and warm and the relaxation pool was also quite warm but the other 2 pools were freezing! We were bothered quite a bit, when relaxing by the pool, by people trying to sell us things such as spa treatments, beauty treatments, scuba diving, paintings and photographs. To avoid being hassled there is a red flag system, this involves collecting a red flag and displaying it by your sun lounger to keep people away, it doesn't work! If you are sleeping, reading or listening to music then they won't disturb you.

There is a doctors clinic on site and he works for most of the day and is on call 24/7. Unfortunately we had to use this service as my daughter was ill while we were away. The reception had to call the doctor as it was out of hours and he arrived within 10 minutes. He was excellent and was very good with my daughter and cared for her very well. He spoke and wrote in fluent English and arranged for the pharmacy to deliver the medicines he had prescribed directly to the hotel and thy arrived with 30 minutes. The doctor checked my daughter over the day we were leaving to make sure she was fit to fly free of charge.

Unfortunately my brother had an accident and also had to visit the doctor. My brother sliced his hand open on a shard of glass due to a waiter dropping a tray of empty glasses onto our table. Again the doctor was fantastic and he stitched my brothers hand up in the on site clinic and also reported the incident to the hotel management. The hotel covered the costs of the medical treatment my bother recieved and they did call my parents room to ask after him.

There are 3 pool bars that serve drinks between 10 and dusk and a bar in the main lobby that is open till late. The pool bars frequently ran out of glasses and the glasses that they did have were often dirty.

We didn't visit the beach but you need to use the hotels shuttle service to get there.

“ We went for Christmas and New Year, the gala events were very good and held in a massive marquee with an amazing selection of food. The hotel is well spread out and we never had problems finding sun beds around the many pools. The aquapark is good, but unfortunately none of the pools that these fall into are heated, so we were unable to make as much use of them as the water was very cold but warmed up slightly in the afternoon.
There were some moans about the food, but generally you could find something to eat, although breakfast I generally skipped. Drinks are okay and can be good if you give the occasional tip and ask for the larger glasses for your G&T.
Overall we had a good holiday, the hotel is clean and our room was fine, if they could improve on the food a little it would really help, but speaking to people at the airport quite a few hotels near by are the same.

“ Top Tip: Pick up a bus for 5 Egyptian Pound just the other side of the roundabout down to a bar called "The Bus Stop" if you want a change, they have free XBox, PS3, computers etc, and a nice 500ml bottle of Sakara is 24EP and Burger King is next door, and Macdonalds just down the road.
