The Hotel Al Diwan's architecture offers a cozy atmosphere of a resort mixed with peace and quiet. The Hotel Al Diwan is great for families, couples, and nature lovers looking for a real treat. The resort offers an Egyptian architect style in their units. The nearby beach area has a marina diving centre. There is a restaurant and bar next to the onsite swimming pools. The shopping malls, coffee and bazaar areas are located 8kms from the resort.

Sharks Bay. Right exit from Sharm el Sheikh International Airport on Peace Road drive straight for 10-15 minutes until you reach the hotel. Al Diwan Resort at Shark Bay is located at the famous tourist spot of Sharm El Sheikh. You can enjoy the multiple water activities, diving, snorkelling, boating and the fabulous coral reefs from a glass boat. Also you can enjoy the desert and the surrounding colourful mountains by safari trips and camel riding.

The rooms are built around the swimming pool and most of them have pool views. Some rooms have two bedrooms and separate living room with sofa bed, others just have one bedroom and living area. All rooms have bathroom with walk in shower, Sat TV, fridge, safety deposit box (local charge), air conditioning and a balcony.

It's a 20-minute drive from the airport. The airport is just off the main road that follows the coast directly into Sharm. Regular taxis and tourist taxis operate from the airport. Minibuses also go to Sharm el Sheikh: they wait outside the airport and only leave once full (journey time - 20 minutes).

The hotel was what we expected for the price a no frills hotel. The staff were excelent polite and helpful. This hotel is not for you if you cannot live without chips and burgers, the food is more continental in nature. The hotel had problems with the water supply and electrical supply aswell as the pool, i would go back to Eygpt but not to the Al Diwan.

Top Tip: The sharks bay beach was great, right next to a coral reef which was full of hundreads of exotic fish great for diving and snorkeling. Also the quad biking in the desert was an excelent morning out.

The Al Diwan was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The pool was dangerous and resulted in countless people cutting their feet and legs on broken tiles. One of the beds in our room was broken in half and the 'door stop' in the bathroom was a rusty nail sticking out of the floor. The reception staff were utterly rude when asked to deal with problems. The courtesy bus only ran four times a day and although we paid for All Inclusive, we were prevented from obtaining food or drink on our final day (which was our 7th day and was paid for). Our representative from Med Hotels told us that he would never recommend this hotel as it has 'rubbish food, rooms and pool'. Beware - it is cheap but very dangerous if you have young children!

clearly a budget hotel but good value for money, the food was a bit the same each day but all inclusive bar very good. however security very poor we had a camera and a phone removed from a table just inches away from us whilst playing pool. no proof but the only people in the area were staff. reception did not want to know

Top Tip: Montys bar Narm bay

Not close to anything except the beach, and at around ten pounds a time to go naama bay where everything worthwhile is, its costly if your there for nearly 2 weeks like i was, ten pound every day times 14 quite expensive in the end.and thats just to travel not including what you actually spend once your in the busier resorts.useful taxi service based at the hotel and cheaper than just catching one from the side of the road.always ask the price before the trip trust me to avoid nasty surprises once the journey is over, you cant exactly argue the price by then its too late. the nearby beach has only 3 or 4 restaurants but they are mostly good. taxis are imperative really because everything is so far away from this hotel and its too dangerous to walk there especially at night.the food was ok, i could fault the fact that on holiday id prefer someone serve me my meal instead of getting it myself. all in all the enjoyed the holiday just chose the wrong hotel not because it was bad but simply because of its location. wouldnt stay there again.oh and dont burn yourself on the hot water.holiday was ok, but very unlikely id return to this country went to turkey 6 months before this one and turkey was far better more to do and more relaxing, even though i went to supposedly the busiest resort of marmaris. i hope my advice will help others not to waste money or have a bad holiday.

Top Tip: Shark bay beach was the only one i visited just make sure you get there about 9am to get a spot. this doesnt relate to the holiday but anyone that hasnt been to sharm before i hope you enjoy the farce that is the organization of their airport. haggle with prices, taxi and small (coach/bus) taxi's will tell you one price then change it once you arrive. in my case he stated 50 egy pounds then when me and my partner arrived he said yes 50 pounds for you and 50 for her.therefore it suddenly became 100. ever heard of a english taxi driver charge per passenger?especially as we were dropped at the same place.

We have just arrived back from our honeymoon and have to say we were very disappointed with our hotel. They gave us the wrong room, we had no special treatment for our honeymoon. The food was not very good. We ordered in takeaways. We never felt welcome, we struggled to get pillows on our second day afer they moved us, we received 1 pillow after midnight after several complaints and phone calls. The rep was awful. He never informed us of any local amenities, travel, what to look out for, etc. He was very rude when we were with him he kept answering his mobile and leaving us sitting there. Adel said he was going to make our stay special but nothing happened. We felt very upset about our honeymoon. The staff were always wanting money from us whenever we asked them to do something for us. Also they did'nt always give us our change back when we got drinks from the bar. Several guests complained over several things too.

Top Tip: The Quad biking in the desert was good.
