A well looked after hotel with very efficient, hard working staff, clean & good food with something for everyone. Situated in a lovely spot overlooking the beach & bays, due to its elevated position the views were lovely and the private beach was easy to reach due to the hotel lift down the cliff to the beach.

Top Tip: If you like beach & pool, do pool morning & beach afternoon, the Russians (80% of the hotel population) all go to the beach early morning, but by midday they do a mass exodus back, leaving the beach virtually empty all afternoon, bliss!

This was our first time in Egypt and we loved it. Beach albatross is a lovely place to stay. The grounds are immaculate and are always clean with plenty of places to sit and relax around the pool or in the gardens. The staff are excellent and very helpful and friendly and just a pound every other day for the cleaners ensures fresh towels and a spotless room every day. Beach towels are provided which are better than the ones from home so no need to bring towels. The food is excellent and there is a wide choice every day which will cater for all tastes. The beach as great and the biggest in the bay and there are plenty of loungers too. We stayed in a beach bungalow which was nice and had a sea view; a fiver to the bloke on reception when you get there ensures a good room. the whole place has a nice relaxed atmosphere and everyone seems very happy to be there. The beer is ok but I had a few rums one night and it gave me bad stomach the next day so avoid the local spirits. All in all a great place to stay and I would definitely go back but I won’t as there are thousands of other places to see on this great planet but i do recommend “Beach Albatross” as a great place to stay.

Top Tip: I strongly recommend talking to dino on the beach who is one of the men from the dive centre who comes round selling trips and things to do. Dino is quite small with curly hair and he is very helpful. We tried scuba diving which I highly recommend it is amazing and even though snorkelling is very good there too it is not a patch on diving. Buy decent snorkelling gear from home and you will not be disappointed. The beach is fine to walk on but to walk easily in the sea you will need swimming shoes as there are lots of rocks and corals which can cut your feet these can be bought on the beach for around five quid. we also did quad biking in the desert which is amazing too, be sure to bring a scarf to cover your face as its very dusty and you will need glasses too, you can buy a scarf there for about 2 quid.
Swimming with dolphins is a must too, fifteen minutes is enough time for that and you get plenty of chances to interact with them. Everyone says about naama bay and how good it is, my advice, dont bother. It’s cheaper to shop in old market and you don’t get hassled as much. Naama bay is a hell hole, people outside every shop trying to get you in there which gets really annoying after five minutes and some of them can be quite aggressive plus it’s really noisy there too and there don’t seem to be any good places to eat however we did go to hard rock cafe which was good. So just to clarify avoid naama bay, its hell.
if you do get ill then antinel tablets are very good and can be bought from the clinic on site or any pharmacy there, chances are you will get ill so I advise getting the tablets when you get there, they’re only a couple if quid from the local pharmacy. Take loads of pound coins as these are great for tips. There is a cash machine in reception and you get a better rate if you change your money there so i advise doing this.

Another lovely holiday back at the beach albatros hotel, stayed in the sea view bungalows which were well furbished and peaceful...lovely view from there over the sea and mountains. As always all staff are happy and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for these people.Food is fantastic for choice and availability have been to the albatros 5 times now and never want to leave.Beautiful kept gardens everywhere is spotless.Choice of bars on a evening either club house which has entertainment or La Veranda which serve cocktails in both.Complex is lovely with a lovely beach which has the most amazing fish and rays. You can walk around to the next bay where there is plenty of coral to investigate.

Top Tip: Walk along to old sharm along the beach....If you fancy a night out go to Soho its a lovely modern complex which has a ice bar....good fun if you can with stand the cold...it has a musical fountain there dont expect it be like Barcelona but it is lovely. There is also a ice rink there.10 pin bowling lots of nice clothes shops. There is a nice shopping area close to the hotel about 10 -15 min walk where there are nice coffee shops and shops to browse at lovely Egyptian wares such as the inlaid wood with mother of pearl..nice leatherwork or just go and browse this is the Mercarto centre ask in reception or Oxanne the guest relations lady who will be able to tell you how to get there......dont forget to haggle though

Please remember you are in a muslim country so expect to hear the mosque....which adds to the charm of this beautiful complex.

Excellent location of the Hotel above the beach. Lovely beach nearby. You can not find a much better location. Friendly and helpful staff.
Rooms are good and very clean. Food is OK but nothing great. Dessert could do with some cream or custard with it! I am sure most of the British tourists would think so!
Our big problem was that on the first 2 nights, there was blaring rock music coming from a night club across the bay. It lasted from 12 midnight till 3 am. We could not believe that someone had the license to wake up half the town and keep them awake all night. (That is what we were initially told). This was totally unsettling!
We spoke to the hotel staff and to their credit (especially Magdi at Reception), they took it up further with the police who put an end to the nuisance. Well done Magdy and Oksana !
