“ You don't stay at this hotel for the food! You stay here because it has an informal friendly feel and great staff! Any issues or questions we had we dealt with politely and quickly. The rooms are basic but functional (you are rarely in your room long in Egypt). There are good restaurants, bars and shops just 10 min walk round the corner.

“ Top Tip: Don't bother with the free beach. Go to El Fanar beach instead, £2 in a taxi and £5 entrance. Great snorkelling!

“ Stayed for two weeks in April and had a great time. Had a few little problems with the room and the food could do with a little more variety (especially the soups!) but would definitely recommend this hotel.All the staff are friendly and helpfull most of the guests are British so there is a really lovely friendly atmosphere with everyone simply enjoying themselves. Two nice clean pools,plenty of loungers. The owner is on site and most anxious to please if you feel you have a problem. It really is amazing value and I just can't wait till I go there again.

“ This may be a 3 star hotel but the staff are definitely 5 star - a very enjoyable holiday. Food was good and didn't have upset stomach once whilst away. The rooms are basic but clean and the service is exceptional. I look forward to returning to this hotel in the future.

“ When first arriving we were shocked at the rooms. To be honest they were very shabby and not well maintained and on top of that were dirty. The first room I was offered had urine on the toilet seet and floor and cigarette stubs in the bowl and on toilet floor so I declined to take the room. The second one wasn't much better although the bathroom was cleaner and the bed was clean. We discovered later in the week they were in the process of renovating some of the rooms. However after saying this we decided to stick it out and give it a try and did so. the food was fine if repetative, nobody had a bad stomach (which was a bonus) and the staff were amazing. I have stayed in some really nice hotels in the past, but have never had better service or friendliness anywhere. We also met some lovely people who had the same opinion as us about the hotel so we did have a good holiday despite this.

“ Top Tip: There was a lovely restaurant called Onions in the shopping Mall (El Macardo) just around the corner from the hotel and a nice chinese one next door to it.
