The hotel is getting a little tired now, however I could not fault the friendliness of the staff and thier efforts to give you a great holiday. As such I think it deserves a great rating. I had gone to enjoy a week of diving and the hotel made a superb base.
The food was both varied and plentiful so top marks there. The hotel is a little remote so may not suit everyone.

Great hotel - can't fault it - calm and quiet in every respect - not too much selling goes on on this beach and there is no loud music (unlike other Egyptian resorts). If you want a good night life you won't get it here - it's not really that kind of resort although they do try to organise events - Arab dancing, disco etc. but not well attended. May is a quiet month - this may be different in December when the hotel is full (capacity 500+)
Food excellent and in copious amounts
Accom - We had sea views. Very good with daily clean if that's what you want
Beach - easily accessible with daily clean towels and mattresses for sunbeds
Reef if lovely - a good variety of Red Sea fish and wonderful coral to be seen up and down the reef. Reef easy to reach from the beach. Only drawback is the front of beach is used by Bedouins on horses and camels and whilst they don't pester the tourist too much the animals can poo right in front of your nose - however if you ask the staff to clean it up they will!
The management could put some better signs up on the beach re: not to feed the fish (tourists are intent on doing this) unfortunately there are far too many plastic carrier bags floating in the sea and left on the beaches, management could attend to this with some large signs on the beach educating people to remove/keep the beaches clean.
Staff - always helpful, polite
Health and beauty centre offer good massages
Would definitely visit Happy Life again for longer and will recommend it to family and friends.

Top Tip:
The 3 pools are close by which is a snorkel spot.
The Bedouins either side of Happy Life are friendly and have restuarants where you can sample ther way of life and meet these lovely people.
Nabq marine protected reserve is next door

“ Awsome location, awesome food, awesome service, stunning beach and snorkeling. This is a great hotel. The variety of food was amazing. There is something for everybody. A huge variety or meat, fish, chicken, salads, and the most devine deserts ect. And every day the meals where different, so there is no way you could get bored. The service both at meal times, round the swimming pools or at the beach was fantastic! The beach is beautiful, with amazing snorkelling on the house reef. Every day we discovered new fish. Beautiful corals and fish! The best thing is the location. Its quiet in the evening, however on a Wednesday evening there was an amazing performance of traditional Eygptian dancing. Not to be missed. If you want peace and quiet, this is the place for you. If you want noise go to Ibiza or benidorm. I will definatley recommend this hotel and will definatley be going back again.
“ Top Tip: Have tea with the bedowins up the beach from happy life and support the young bedowin girls selling beautiful hand made jewlery.

“ We stayed at this hotel and we were pleasantly surprised. We had booked a standard room and that was what it was, and a little in need of an update. The rooms were basically cleaned every day but surfaces were not dusted every day. The pool area was clean and we had no problem getting sunbeds throughout our stay. The staff are very friendly and attentive and go out of their way to keep the guests happy. The restaurants are of a buffet style and will appeal to all people even the fussy ones. The hotel runs a free shuttle bus into Dahab and was used frequently by us. We would go back to this hotel even though the majority of guests are German and Russian as it it really good value for money. The only downfall is they allow smoking in the lunchtime restaurant. They are over to the side but personally I think they should have an outside dining area like the main restaurant.
“ Top Tip: We ate at "Nemo's restaurant in Dahab and the fish was amazing. Try the quad biking that was great fun too.

Very good hotel. Pleased with the accomodation we were given a suite which had loads of space including a large bedroom and a lounge area large enough for a sofa and armchair, table and chairs and twin beds for our children. Clean if alittle tired looking in places.
Great food lots of variety. Only complaint was that they do not heat any of the swimming pools which is unfortunate as December air temp is approx 22 degrees but the unheated pools were 16 (seriously cold) which was a big disappointment to our kids as they could only bear it for 5 mins at a time!
Snorkelling amazing and onsite dive centre also very good. Staff great. Would go again but not during the winter unless they heat a pool!
Dahab itself is great lots of restaurants and bars without being too commercial only 10-15 mins in taxi or hotel shuttle bus.
