Check-in date:

I stayed at the Ramada Plaza for 3 weeks on a bed and breakfast basis. The hotel is ideally situated right in the centre of Naama Bay near all the restaurants, bars etc.

Check in was very smooth and the staff were very helpful. The room was lovely. Big and roomy and very clean. It had plenty of wardrobe/drawer space and a large bathroom. The room was mainly kept clean throughout our stay, however, after about a week I noticed that some parts of the room weren't being cleaned, i.e. between the beds, the surfaces of furniture etc. The towels and bedding were changed every day.

The pool area was nice apart from the constant hassle from staff at the onsite beauty salon/ tattoo parlour. This was constant for the whole 3 weeks I was there. By the end of the first week I was at the end of my tether with it and was quite clear to the staff that I did not intend to use any of these facilities during my stay. Still, the hassle continued, with 1 of the beauty salon guys even pointing out specific parts of you that weren't quite perfect and saying he could "fix" this for you!

As I was B&B I can't comment too much on the food. Breakfast was good with a good selection. Most other guests were All Inclusive though and most of them said the other meals left a lot to be desired.

The only other downside to the hotel was that if you weren't AI, you were treated like a bit of a second class citizen. Not what I have experienced anywhere else in Sharm El Sheikh on my other 5 visits there.

I would recommend the hotel on a B&B basis.

Top Tip: Best restaurants I visited were Pomodoro and Peking.
Best bars- Fifty bar on the beach and The Tavern which also does amazing food.
Beware of hassle from workers in bars, shops and restaurants. They will hassle you to go in, and I found this year this was ten times worse than normal, with staff getting very rude when you didn't want to go in. Also, beware of the many perverts who also work here who will grab you and be very rude/abusive in a sexual way if you don't go in. The first time I have experienced this type of hassle!

Good hotel for the price, located within walking distance of Naama Bay centre. Staff were pleasant and the Junior Suite we had was spacious, clean and comfortable-especially the beds. Our cleaner, Adil, was particularly helpful and was tipped accordingly! Three daughters aged 13, 10 and 6 enjoyed the pool (it was cold though) and took part in some organised night time activities – They would definitely go back. Breakfast was fine but I don’t think I would want to eat there all day when there are so may nice places to eat nearby. Only downside was the slight smell of smoke that kept wafting in to our room from the corridors (some of the European and local guests were heavy smokers) and I think from the air conditioning vents which may have been fed from the roof. However, it was slight and did not ruin our stay. All in all, a pleasant hotel.

Top Tip: Supermarket in Naama Bay, next to the Crocs shop, just behind the hotel, is cheaper and cleaner than the one directly opposite the hotel. It has some tasty, value for money, Egyptian food to take away that did not give us belly ache. Water and snacks are also reasonably priced.

Walk out of the hotel, turn right at the door, turn right again and walk down the alley to the right of Cook Door (good food outlet). Turn left towards ‘Fatimas’ and then go left for supermarket or right for KFC etc. This route, though dimly lit and back street like was safe and avoided the sellers in the main bit if you just wanted to grab something quickly without being hassled.

The Onions restaurant in Il Mercato (short drive away, large ‘bus’ taxi for 50 EP, small taxi for 30 EP) or Nabq bay just down the road are worth a visit.

Shop around for excursions and do not be fooled into paying more for a better or more personal service. You will get the same as every one else no matter what you pay so go for the cheapest. Promises of ‘private trips’ for my family did not seem to carry much weight with some of the excursion folk and beach side boat trip sellers we met. The guy selling excursions, just down the road, behind the hotel turned out to be the cheapest for us.

The hotel is quite modern and generally well kept, clean and tidy.
The rooms are spacious, modern and clean. The restaurant is rather
poor and the food is of a poor quality, the restaurant was overcrowded
and untidy.
The upper bar service was extremely poor with a poor selection of drinks
available. The bottom bar was never open.

The staff were friendly but did not understand much of what we were saying. So things took an age to get done.
The new manager has started the improvements so in time the standard will improve.
The room was a junior suit. very spacious as we were there for a month space was important. The beds were extrememly comfortable.
There was lots of fresh fruit.
We had a Balcony but not many rooms had a balcony most had a 12 " strip to sidle outside. between the window and outside.

There was a very small garden that could be made a usable space to sit in but nothing was done about it.

The Beach was accessed by a 15 - 20 minute bus ride, so the Hotel beach was not accessable on foot. All the other beach spaces closer, you have to pay a 50Le
supplement to use.

The Pool is on the roof, this is good as there is no outside space for the hotel on the ground floor. This gives magnificent views over the Mountains and the Sea.

The music around the pool was too loud, I just wore ear plugs when the volume started to hurt my ears.
When the Smokers became a nuisance, and we developed a sore throat and a cough we just did what all non smokers do, we kept moving away from them.

The restaurant was ok. however if you went in too late there was not enough spares to keep putting more food out so if you were later than 9pm not much left.
Often the tables were not cleaned after the evening so the breakfast tables still had food from the night before all over them and litter on the floor. some children their culture was to let them run around most of the night making as much noise a they could this Hotel was not for children nothing for them to do.
the corridoors very echoey.
I asked for a cleaning cloth so I could clean my table before I sat to eat my breakfast. the waiter just took a used serviette from another table and dusted the table down with it.
Breakfast boxes were a little disgusting one box I had had 6 dry rolls with a little of their type of meat and cheese no fruit.

We would have thrown 5 of those rolls away we would not have eaten the meat or the cheese as we did not like it the white bread is very hard to digest so we did not eat much of that either. the other one had two pieces of fruit one piece was so over ripe it had split.
We asked for one roll one boiled egg 2 pieces of fruit and a small pastry and we found out that they said we were a trouble.

The room service was so lax they did not answer I rang reception they said 10 minutes one hour later we gave up.
The bottled water failed to arrive on serveral occasions, the room cleaner was very good at making animals out of towels but forgot to replenish things like. tea, creamers shower gell, tissues.
The floor was dirtier after he cleaned as he used the same old towel around the same brush for all the rooms. Without cleaning it between each room.
some days he came so late we sent him away.
Several times we came into the room after being out all day to smell cigarette smoke in the room.
Then the new TV's arrived, they are so big you cannot get far enough away from the screenand they turn on when you enter the room. We just kept pulling out the plug

The generator every day very loud.
To get light bulbs replaced, in the end I had to take them out of the holders and take them down to reception then they understood what I had been asking for for three days by then three had blown.
The best staff we found out left or were in the process of leaving.

The non smoking room took 6 hours for me to deep clean before it was suitable to live in and we were there for a month and being an asthmatic it was important to get rid of the Nicotine coating the room.
In the bathrooms the mirrors hide a large hole in the wall that lets in the polution from the burning of the rubbish by the community and the smoking from people around the pool.
We bought some sticky tape and sealed this off.

If you want to be quiet, clean, with pretty grounds to relax in. and places for the children this is not the Hotel for you.

Top Tip: If you want to Dive then this is very close to the RED SEA DIVING college Voted the best for three years running. Learn a few words in arabic and you will have great fun here.
