Lovely hotel, a good size without being too large. Spotlessly clean. Rooms large and very well arranged within well kept squares and gardens. Great layout. Great pool area. Helpful and friendly staff. Good entertainment. The only let down was the restaurant which had the atmosphere of a self-service canteen where everyone rushed in and out and there were no waiters allocated to look after you or sell drinks to half-board customers. Food was edible with a reasonable choice and caused no stomach problems, but not quite up to 4 star standard. However apart from the restaurant everything else was brilliant and so I'd be happy to stay there again.
Location very good, away from the bustle of Naama Bay but still within easy walking distance of shops, cafes and attractions. The hotel beach is reached via their shuttle bus but we prefered to use the very much larger and nicer beach opposite the Old Market. It's a £2 tax ride or a 20 minute walk but well worth it.
Very nice small hotel, room was large and very large balcony. Staff very helpful, but only certain ones could speak english. Clean hotel, only drawback was it was full of Russians, which I haven't got a problem with, only when you come to eat, as we stayed Half-Board, with my 3 children, food was catered for Russians, could not eat food, it was appalling!! We stayed for 2 days only and had to be moved to the Shores Amphoras Hotel just half a mile away, a luxury 5 star hotel, which was beautiful and could not fault the food, it was worth the upgrade! We stayed there for 2 weeks and had a fabulous holiday. Travel Republic did everything they could for us when I stated that we needed to be put in another hotel, got us a very good deal to upgrade and go all inclusive, so thanks to Travel Republic, very professional company and will definately use them again. Do not let this review put you off going to the Sol Verginia Hotel though as otherwise we couldn't fault it, we are just a family who are very fussy eaters, thats all. Weather fabulous. Nice shopping mall nearby, EL Mercato, you have a McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut etc, but be prepared to have an upset tummy if you do eat there. We were fine as long as we eat on Hotel Complex, no bad tummy's, however we eat at TGI Fridays in Naama Bay, lovely food and cheaper than UK prices, however we were all toilet bound the next day!! Take your immodium and you will be fine. Recommend Fantasia Show, which is just a short walk away past EL Mercato, we had a very nice night on our last night there, well worth the entrance fee. Also haggle with Taxi Drivers, we only paid 20 EGP to Naama Bay and 20EGP back. Also haggle with taxis, do not pay any more than 80EGP to Airport, and I was a woman on my own with my 3 children, so there is no excuse not to haggle, they will rip you off if you let them, so be warned.
Hotel beach to Sol Verginia we found was very nice and relaxing and clean. Swim off the jetty as amazing coral fish. Also do the Ras Mohammed Snorkelling Boat Trip, well worth it, corals and fish were awsome.
The only thing was the cleaner used to knock on our door at 8.00am every morning to clean the room even though we used to put a do not disturb sign on their. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Hotel needs a bit of updating, over all it was a nice place to stay, definatly not a place for older people as the music is just to loud at night and goes on till 1.00 in the morning. I would rate it as a 3 star not 4.
There's a new shopping complex thats 15 minutes walk from the hotel, its only half opened at the moment they have got food shops and shopping. it a nice place to go and chill too.
