  • Hotel does need the updating that is currently under way as is looking a bit tired, but the staff more than make up for it by being the best my wife and I have come across on our travels. There were several Russians at the hotel and apart from being rude, never smiling and piling their plates with food and not eating it they never bothered us.

  • Good Hotel, in a prime location with a superb private beach, also right next to Soho square which was hassle free. Great facilities in the Hotel complex with lovely laid out gardens, all the staff were very nice and most helpful. Food could have been better, but in all fairness was above average for Egypt. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and will definately return there.

Hotel does need the updating that is currently under way as is looking a bit tired, but the staff more than make up for it by being the best my wife and I have come across on our travels. There were several Russians at the hotel and apart from being rude, never smiling and piling their plates with food and not eating it they never bothered us. The Egyptians love the polite English to the abrupt Russians. The reef in front of the hotel is reached by pontoon and is fantastic for snorkelling, the amount and variety of fish was the best I have seen in this our forth trip to Egypt. Soho square is next door and is worth a visit to see the musical water fountain and to have a drink while you listen to the live music on the huge stage. It is easier to shop here compared to Namma bay, you are not hassled as you look around, but in Namma you are constantly being hassled and for us it spoiled our visit there. The entertainment is usually low key in Egypt but again it was the best we have experienced.. Summing up the Hotel needs a makeover, food, always had something we liked, staff were first class, entertainment at hotel and Soho square always provided something to enjoy over a cool drink, snorkelling wonderful.. One our most enjoyable holidays after a few decades of travelling. We would not normally return to a Hotel as we like to experience something new each trip, but we had such an enjoyable two weeks we may return next year.

Top Tip: I have dived and snorkelled for many years and the reef and variety of fish here is one of the best. I went at 6.30am several times and saw more than when it got a bit busier, but anytime of day you will see fantastic amount of fish.. We paid £5 for a taxi into Namma Bay, but did not enjoy the hassle. We tipped little and often, usually £1 a time and got first rate service. The staff also appreciate you if you exchange their pound coins for notes which we did to get more coins for tipping. Not really suitable if you find steps a challenge as there are several to reach the beach.

Top Tip: Good pub in Soho Square called the Queen Vic, which serves good cocktails
