Sol Y Mar Sea Star Hotel

“ This was my second visit to the Seastar with my wife and it was just as good as our first visit.Everybody at the Hotel does a great job looking after everybody staying there,the staff are friendly and very helpful.We shall keep going back.

“ Our stay was very enjoyable and relaxing. The hotel is remote, but just about a 40 minute ride from Taba Airport. It is most suitable for those looking for a nice rest from work and a break from the cold weather. There was a mixture of ages in the hotel but very few children.
The food was pleasant and varied, you could also ask for different things if you had special dietry needs. The alcohol was local spirits and beer, plenty of chilled drinks and ice cream if you want them.
Dont expect to explore the territory outside of the hotel, its all desert! There is a taxi service into Taba Heights at a one off price of £14 irrespective of 1 or 5 travelling. There is daily and evening entertainment, exercise classes, belly dancing etc for those who wanted to keep fit and participate. The beach is across the road, a 5 min walk. clean and good facilities. The hotel staff are wonderful, very helpful and friendly and all of the facilities were clean and accessible. Nothing was too much trouble to the staff and managers alike. I would go back on a heartbeat purely because it was value for money, you get what you pay for and it was very peaceful and secluded.

“ Top Tip: A short taxi drive into taba heights is fine when you feel the need to buy local goods and trinkets etc. We had the opportunity to tour the other hotels to get an idea of the location and standards. The taxi driver is attached to the Sol y Mar hotel and is availble when you fancy a trip out and very helpful, waiting until your trip is over.

“ Hotel was absolutely fine - not the best hotel ever, but certainly not the worst. I would go back there.

“ Top Tip: I didn't manage it, but probably worth getting a taxi to Taba city, at least for better snorkelling. Everyone else seemed to think that the snorkelling was great - everyone but those who were staying at this hotel and using this private beach. Not a great problem unless you're there specifically for the snorkelling!

Only one bar, drinks machine broken nearly everyday therefore drinking warm beer and pop most of the holiday.
Flies in room for first 2 days (hundreds of them, spoke to reception twice and rep before anything was done.
Saw a mouse just outside the dining room.
Asked Rammi our rep where the gym was he laughed and said there was no gym, we found it the day before we come home.
Found caterpilla on lettuce in dinner.
Food poor.
Room was triple superior- was very basic and third bed was a bed on the floor
Pool attendants were excellent
Worst all inclusive we have had.
