Good city centre hotel with all of the attributes that you would expect of a Radisson Blu hotel. Excellent accomodation. Notable feature was how quiet the rooms were with no noise from next door or outside traffic etc. That said, the Radisson Blu Royal is situated in a relatively quiet part of Helsinki but only 2 minute walk to the tram stop which is a cheap 10 min ride to the harbour front.
Easy to walk into the shopping cente- Kamppi Retail Mall is a 3 minute walk and the rest of Helsinki shopping is next door.
Food at the Hotel was superb with a Michelin recommendation not a full star, but the Grill It resutuarant in the hotel was popular with the locals, albeit at the usual eye watering cost of eating out in Helsinki! Eat in twice and enjoyed both meals,
Overall, would recommend highly. (Stayed May 2011).

Top Tip:
If coming from the airport, give the v expensive taxis a miss at nearly 45 Euros before a tip for a c 10 mile journey. Get either the FinnAir Coach or Route 615 Bus from outside Terminal 2. Cost is 4 Euro each person and drops you at the Central Railway Station.
If you must then hire a taxi to the Hotel. Will save you c 40 Euros each way - a total of 80 Euros!!!
The Radisson Blu Royal is c 700 metres from the Station, albeit up a modest slope and we walked it ( we are both aged over 55!) pulling cases in c 15 minutes. No real need for a taxi if the weather is dry.
