The prices in the hotel are eyewateringly expensive. €9.80 for a small bottle of mineral water is expensive for any Western European hotel.
For "city view" read back yard with train line at the end. No air con in room and if you open the window the trains start at about 5am.
“ Top Tip: Vesuvio restaurant - about 100m along the Croisette to the right towards the centre of town - excellent food and (for Cannes) very reasonable prices.

“ Great hotel, expensive but you get what you pay for. Make sure you get breakfast included - if you don't it is seriously expensive as an add-on.

I normally stay at the Carlton and thought it would be nice to have a change and compare the two hotels. I had to send an email to compliment the staff at the hotel Martinez. I do feel they went out of their way to accomodate us as much as possible. I was always greeted with the warmes of smiles. The conciege was very informative and advised on new restaurants. As I
was celerating my birthday and thought it would have been wonderful if the hotel had acknowelged this as the Carlton had in my pass visites. I would highly recommend staying at the Martinez and look forward to going there on my next trip in April/May 2013.
“ Top Tip: You much go to the old village and eat at Le Mesclun at 16 Rue Saint Antoine
