“ This is not a 4 Star hotel. It is a basic hotel which is mainly used by business people. The rooms are basic, double bed, TV with digital French TV and a shower rooms. Close to train station and tram stop outside ( 5 min ride to town centre ). Has underground parking, which is €10 per night.

The hotel name changed 2 years ago to Mercure City - not to be confused with the one at the airport.
The rooms were recently upgraded with excellant bathrooms and beds.
Whilst not in the tourist part of Bordeaux, or having restaurants, shops etc it has the Main Railway station 10 minutes walk or one tram stop away - no tram or rail noise.
The tram stop is 2 minutes from the hotel. The system is superb and sleek taking you to the centre in 5 minutes and available 20 hours a day plus routes throughout the city. At 11 Euro of unlimited use for 7 days its also great value.
“
Top Tip:
Bordeaux is great for 2 to 3 days - its exactly as the tourist books describe.
Not great for families- Ideal for 'adults' 20 something upto 70+
Faboulous beach 1 hour away by train but again grown up - not for noisy children.

hotel was very nice and clean, the staff were very helpfull, was a little bit out of the way for shops and resturants, but the trams were fast and frequent.
Breakfast was basic and coffee was cold. The bedroom and shower room were very good. Would stay again.
